On April 11th, a new Cyberpunk 2077 update will hit the streets, featuring the technology preview of the Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode, which enhances the game’s already-amazing visuals with full ray tracing, otherwise known as path tracing. Full ray tracing accurately simulates light throughout an entire scene. https://www.nvidia.com/en-au/geforce/news/cyberpunk-2077-ray-tracing-overdrive-update-launches-april-11/

My 13900K/4090+C2 is ready 🙌 I thought RT(X)/DLSS were cool ideas but the 2080Ti was just not "amazing at it so I never bothered with it and stuck to traditional rationalization gains, the 2080Ti was barely an upgrade to the 1080Ti tho lol…until the 3090 that is. That's when it became a none issue for me in 4K gaming to do RT and some of it looked really good. 3090 was a beast and Raytraced games w/DLSS 2 looked amazing on my CX and ran surprisingly well too. But the 4090 is a brute, there is nothing it can't run and DLSS 3 is super welcome imo. I don't care for all the drama and hate, I just wanna enjoy the tech and the new perks it offers.
so weve been lied to once again, ray tracing or path tracing is still not the final form of graphics. im still waiting since the 4090 or 5090 wont be the red dragon with 9 heads final form eighter D;
Still haven't played it to this day.
Simply don't have time for games of that length, but I hope they fix the gameplay issues.
It does look nice tho.
I’ll test it on my 3060 to see how badly it runs at 1080p. Honestly I’m quite excited to see something like this added into a game like this. I love real time ray and path tracing in games
Looking forward to test it in 1440p with my 4070TI…
DLSS 3.0 is great : 133 fps (frametime 80 ms)
And right when RTX cards will not need DLSS / Frame Generation for Path tracing or when AMD starts to catch up Nvidia will start to do Spectral Path Tracing which goes well beyond in RGB color correction. Nvidia has it's game plan to keep people getting a new card each year or two. Cause when you own so much of the market you have to do something to give people a reason to keep spending.
Let's hope they added to consoles too, probably hopeless
This is making my 3080 feel ancient already 😅 it could barely handle path traced portal at 720p
Just got Geforce Now through an AT&T promo for six months, so I'll definitely have to check this out when it drops. Prefect timing. 😁
So… just as we're finally getting to the point where we can enable Ray Tracing on our games without making them tank… they come out with a NEW technology that no one can run, basically making all our GPUs of today obsolete already and making everyone "need" to upgrade to the 50 series and 60 series in the future
