  1. Sorry no time for side-by-side edits before I left for work today 🙂
After a bit more playing off-camera, I feel like in combat I thought 60fps with frame gen (40ish baseline) felt a little too "floaty' on the aiming due to the latency. Playable, but I preferred adjusting settings to get a baseline FPS of 60 or more before enabling frame gen. That felt and looked pretty good.

  2. Just tried this on my 4090 which is undervolted using the same settings that LTT did in their video where they tried to run the card with a 550w psu in CP2077. Am able to go between 90-110 also depending on area with ultra everything, psycho rt, dlss 2 quality, and dlss 3 FG. So same performance as in this video, but the kicker is that while you have your card running at 400 w mine is at 300 W. I’m sure you weren’t going for efficiency really but it goes to show that the undervolt settings that LTT made really work well for this game at least. Before FG I also saw 100W reduction with exact same fps toggling between stock and undervolt in msi afterburner while playing in game.

All in all, FG is really great on the 4090. The latency is not very noticeable for CP2077 so the game works v nicely with this tech. The game is about 50% faster with FG. Nvidia’s claim of up to 4x faster with FG comes solely from MSFS alone to my knowledge and that claim is actually correct.

  3. I've been trying out the frame generation option for a while and I'm definitely keeping it on. I play CP2077 at 1440p and cap the framerate at 140 FPS with G-Sync because I have a 144hz monitor. While my 4090 is capable of producing between 80-140 FPS most of the time, I still get some framerate drops to below 60 FPS in busy areas like the market next to Tom's Diner near V's original apartment. (That is a great place to test your graphics settings BTW.) Now with the frame generation, I can get between 100-120 FPS in these areas. That means now I can play the entire game with fairly high graphics and ray-tracing settings at over 100 FPS from the beginning to finish. The only tradeoff is a slight increase of input latency. Now that is an unforgettable experience.

  4. Trading frames for latency is a terrible idea. From what I have seen it appears that the higher the frame rate the less latency DLSS3 has but you are already have a high fps.

  5. I got an open box deal on a 4080 and tried out Frame Generation in two games I've played. In Spiderman Miles Morales it didn't really feel and different despite the fps number being around 100. In Portal the input lag made it feel too bad to keep using. My fps went from around 35 to 60ish. I'll likely try it out in CP2077, but as of now I don't feel like frame generating is a feature worth paying a premium for.

  6. Honestly the amount of ghosting present, would make it unplayable for me. (especially with the car at 02:45 and the gun at 03:20) and that's on a youtube video. Wuuld hate to see the ghosting when not smushed by youtube. (Could however be that some amount of that ghosting is due to the raytracing)

  7. vsync-fast setting in the nvidia control panel is what i use when i go over my monitors refresh rate. It discards any extra frames but still processes the game at that speed, meaning you don't lose the responsiveness of any extra frames.

  8. This is so good. Thank you for the indepth description of menus and options. I have been following your channel for a while and seeing real world examples of the technology as it becomes abailable is amazing. Keep up the great work!

  9. 🤦‍♂Does ray tracing really worth all this bullshit? Its not in my opinion… who cares about some accurate reflections when it takes 2/3 of performance? Just turn it off and enjoy the game at full resolution and performance… But hey, iam just random old guy who preffers the raw performance… not some fake BS 🤷‍♂

  10. The fact that it took them this long to actually release the feature in this game is pretty unacceptable.

I'm sure a lot of 40-series owners, including myself, hoped to get their hands on this tech for this game in particular, yet while Nvidia has been claiming "support for cyperpunk 2077 DLSS 3" for months, we only just now actually get the features.

the performance of the 40-series is undeniable, but this DLSS 3 is overhyped. Hardly any game support, hardly any hardware support. DLSS 3 only exists to sell 40-series GPUs and I haven't been super impressed even in the games that do actually support it.

  11. Just tested it with 10700k and 4090. I like the frame generation feature quite a lot i have to say. I can finally drive through the City now in 4k and everything on max without fps dropping sometimes below 60. Actually when dlss is on auto I have constantly fps betweem 90 and 120. Picture quality looks very good to me and turning with my mouse feels very responsive. But I am also not 16 anymore, maybe cannot feel any difference anyway 😀

  13. It's crazy they even allow video games to run at this high of a benchmark when it's unplayable. I just feel like it's pointless even after 3 years later of it being out. Just a personal thought.

  14. How true it is it can´t be done coming from that Wang? 10 years ago Jensen WANG said:" our goal is to make enterprise performance cheap and optainable for desktop" and looking at that Wang´s almost 100% profit margin´s, I highly doubt it can´t be done it´s just the same lie as "gamers are buying so many GPUs" during the crypto craze so f*k Jensen WANG!

  15. I'll just wait a gen or 2 to use ray tracing , dlss and frame gen look soooo bad compared to actual native 4k, I really dont get how people can say they dont notice it.

  16. After update, I think it was Nvidias auto-optimizer which changed my ray tracing and some other setting to psycho without asking. It had also enabled DLSS Auto which in my opinion dropped resolution too much, but didn't enable frame generation. I simply capped fps to reduce heat and power consumption, left everything on psycho and disabled DLSS and frame generation, but then again I am running at 1440p and get stable fps without noticing any drops even without them.

  17. It looks good but man a 4090 + 7700X combo is still not what I imagined it would be with DLSS3…..I have a 3060Ti + 3900X that I wish could get an update for DLSS3 but I will probably just upgrade to a 7800X3D or 5900X not sure which that depends on how I see my work flow going into the future.

  18. The game still has weird bugs like look at 13:20 there are cars on the road, in fact several. Then a few seconds later at 13:27 the cars cease to be there and it's a ghost town. It's like as soon as he hit the "outskirts" of downtown the NPC and Cars just cease to exist or get drastically reduced. They need to fix that.

  19. So they added a feature only for a new card but older ones will still struggle to have max 30 at max details when new cards' fps will jump from 80 to 100.. AmAzInG…

  20. Every change to your video settings that increases your frame rate in exchange for some worse visuals is an optimization. So if you take 4k ultra psycho RT and you are running at 20fps, you have options to get to 120fps. In my opinion, the best optimization is to use screen space reflections instead of RT reflections. Decrease settings from ultra to high, etc. Bam, you're done. Why would I want to wreck the image with frame generation, DLSS low resolution (gotta love the Orwell-esque calling DLSS low resolution "super resolution" the opposite of what it does), and all these things, when the best optimization, turning RT off, is available. LOL. The degradation of lower resolution, of frame generation, is much worse than the degradation of using high settings and turning RT off.

  21. great analysis… But now, after updating to DLSS 3 on steam, Cyber engine tweaks stopped working.. If I open it´s log, it reads the following:

    [2023-01-31 20:09:10 UTC-03:00] [info] [Options] [13480] Cyber Engine Tweaks is starting…

    [2023-01-31 20:09:10 UTC-03:00] [error] [Initialize] [13480] 5D

    [2023-01-31 20:09:10 UTC-03:00] [error] [Initialize] [13480] 30
(the number after "Initialize", may vary after launching the game many times)

Anyone else?? (I do not know how to fix it….)

  22. I agree about dlss 2 in cyberpunk, it defintely has some issues , things look weird in motion sometimes, ghosting is prevelant and aliasing is still there , which is weird cuz the witcher 3 looks really good with it and doesn't have most of these issues , the one issue i noticed is armor looking grainy in menus

  23. Hi Daniel, Im trying to find information on long term effects of using the lg c1/c2 in 1440p letterbox mode. I plan to use a C2 for 1440p gaming but using whole screen for movies at 4k. Really struggling to find any updates regarding the burnin/"tired pixel" issue.

Would appreciate an update regarding this or if you could point me in the direction of someone who could help me.

Thanks for doing what you do 🙂
