What does the redemption of Cyberpunk 2077 actually look like? In this documentary, GameSpot follows developer CD PROJEKT RED as they launch Cyberpunk’s latest expansion, Phantom Liberty.

We interview roughly a dozen developers on the difficult launch of Cyberpunk 2077, the changes the studio underwent afterward, and how all that has led to Phantom Liberty. We were embedded in the studio during launch so we were able to capture the raw emotions of what it’s like to launch a AAA video game. As fans of CD PROJEKT RED and their work, we wanted to get an inside perspective on one of the biggest studios, and one of the most controversial releases of all time.

  1. It's amazing to see them smile at the time of phantom liberty release. I really always loved cyberpunk 2077. I could see what the passionate people wanted us to see underneath it all. I'm glad it's now possible for everyone if they choose to see how beautiful cyberpunk is! The team at cdpr for cyberpunk is incredible and they deserve this win.

  6. I put in 70hours on a base PS4 because even with the bugs, I knew there was a good game there. I am playing on PS5 on December 1st. I genuinely can't wait to experience the game the way they intended.

  7. With all due respect, what is the point of these videos if game devs themselves make dev diaries nowadays?
I feel like that’s why series like audio logs holds less value compared to like 5 years ago because game studios now put those out on their own channels with their own video teams.
Also, what is a production coordinator? Apologies for my ignorance, that’s the first time I’ve noticed that role.

  8. I honestly feel a lot for the dev team.
games are not easy and this game was honestly a huge undertaking.
Appreciate all the hard work after launch to try and make the best of a bad situation.
Went ahead an got a second copy so my wife could play on her PC and to try and reward the hard work they kept up.
Game was good at first on PC & is wonderful now. ♥

  9. I dont gave a sh* about the non gamebreaking bugs at day1-3. What they still not delivered was the promised game with Cyberpunk story and mechanics. It is now a good RPG with a really good look. Hope you do right the next time.

  10. Hope CD Projekt Red has now realized that it’s time to surpass their limits and make the Witcher game that comes after The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

This is the time. It’s time to push everything into this one project. I trust in this team! You can make it 🙏🏻

  13. Cyberpunk 2077 made me love CDPR way more than The Witcher 3, that game is great but for me personally Cyberpunk 2077 is far above because of its atmosphere and tone, it's truly a next generation game.
