  1. Ohhhhhhh, the ratio. Don’t be a blind fanboy, I suppose. It absolutely was meant to be a last gen game. It was conceived last gen and most of the work was done last gen. All their marketing was around last gen and if it hadn’t been delayed, it would have been released before the next gen came out.

  2. I'm not directing this to anyone or Avarti himself, but everyone I know who has Cyberpunk 2077 barely plays it anymore and has almost the same sentiment about the game. First one being "The gameplay is shit, open world sucks and it's broken as hell. But I still like the story." (and they talk about how they wasted money on Cyberpunk. Every single damn time.) And the second one being basically them coping with the small amount of updates and patches released by CDPR to justify their buyer's remorse. I understand if you like the game, but I wouldn't go far as to say the game is "saved" unless it pulls Hello Games and does 360 full redemption arc. I mean, No Man's Sky is far from perfect, but the fact that there are major updates, still? That's what I call "saved."

  3. One of the best storylines I’ve ever experienced. Even on a 1060 3gb it was beautiful. I understand the bugs and the lack of promised content. I can understand why last gen users are frustrated. However I don’t think it deserves the amount of hate. I was way more disappointed with the NMS launch.

  4. I like cyberpunk 2077, whoever did the art and writing for this game really needs a raise. Truthfully I didn't follow this game's marketing, so my perspective comes from a level spot, where I don't know what the cut features are, so from my perspective, I agree with Avarti.

That being said, I don't forgive CDPR for its failure to deliver on the promises. Reading these comments I can empathize with you guys. Hopefully, in time we can receive these things in updates/DLC/expansions or whatever.

  5. The game is still about 10 major patches of being truly being stable even then that's pretty generous there's lots of features missing which could break the game even further if added back to the game.

  6. Even if it had 0 bugs, the game is missing so many key role playing features that they always touted as being so awesome in this game. There’s not even any hub areas where you can talk to NPCs and learn about them or anything like that.

  7. I mean, I personally really liked it and never needed it saved because I had very few issues…but…the bug hype around the game was not universal. I had a few t-poses…a few times I had to reload a save…that was the extent of it. The game I GOT…was my favorite RPG…period. It makes a Bethesda plot look like it was written by a child who took their first Philosophy 101 course and doesn't know what a 3 act structure is. The world, the characters, the tone…it ooooozes with style and begs to be analyzed for substance. It makes RDR2 look cookie cutter and safe.

As far as the open world? Very little has changed so I'm not sure how this title makes sense. What was "saved" here? A few QoL changes, better frames, a bit better weather and reflections during rain? I wouldn't call that saved…it's basically as good as it was at launch it just runs better and has less issues and is minorly better of a play experience. The only thing going on is more players are getting a chance to play the game other people have already played and enjoyed.

The fat reality is…last gen console will never play the game PC has gotten to play. The bitter resentment players feel means they will NEVER get the game that people like me enjoy because they deeply hate this game, they do not want it to be good, they will not give it an ounce. They do not want a good game, they want a witch to burn. No matter what CDPR does to this game they have an audience that feels so deeply invested in their hatred of this title because of a perceived slight that they will probably not drop a dime to CDPR again…meanwhile you bet they are gunna buy Starfield like a fuckin clown.

For the majority of their audience it won't be "saved" till that audience plays on Next Gen and gets the base experience that PC got…and THEN you have to also account for what people are going to think about the game post-DLCs and Expansions…which could be very starkly different if Expansions are neighborhoods like Pacifica and more content in the city and maybe even map expansions…then you have car chases, vehicle combat, etc. The game I played at launch is never going to feel the same after these expansions. Driving around the city with new cars, being chased and shot at and shooting back, going to a mirror to change my appearance and whatever else they add, being able to turn into the canyons of Pacifica and be shot at and chased or blown up…all of this is going to make the game we have look like shit, but imo, the core of that future game that is going to make it so great is already here. The game that made it a 10/10 for me is the game we have now…all that other shit will be fun…sure, but it's just open world gamer fluff.

While sure, I think the game we have now is truly PHENOMENAL, and it doesn't necessarily need these extra features to be considered a great game worth full price…I still think people are going to act as if whatever we get by the end of the dev process is "not enough for what was promised"…and that what we actually got is a small constelation prize when in all reality, it's a massive amount of content. That massive amount of content won't be a bonus to the great game we have now…it'll be what "gamers(tm) were owed"…because they don't know what they were owed so whatever it is they do get IS what they were owed…and if they like the game after they got what they were owed. If they don't like the game for w/e genre/gameplay style/lingering resentment reasons then they didn't get what was owed…etc. It's not a real gauge for which to critique and judge a game so it will just fluctuate off made up feelings and just reflect the emotional experience the gamer had with the product before and after.

Obviously, this is all speculation…but given the way people talk about this game, they've dug a grave for it so deep that CDPR will never be able to dig out of how much people hate this game for just being a game.

My only worry in all this is that gamers are just feeling entitled to whatever the product they get is…it won't be "impressive" it'll be "bare minimum"…it won't be "loads of content for a fair price"…it'll be "this should all have been free because X". CDPR cannot win, the hype was too large, gamers are too toxic these days, and it's all going to end up with games like Cyberpunk not being made anymore. Why try, why make a new IP, why take risks if the response to failure is gamers trying to burn you at the stake?

Game devs are fucked and the industry is plagued by a jaded and cynical fanbase that have been burned so many times that if they don't get EVERYTHING then it may as well be nothing.
