  1. Fun fact about Cyberpunk the Tabletop: During the raid on Arasaka tower, Johnny Silverhand challenged Adam Smasher personally, on the urging of the undiagnosed voice in his head he'd decided belonged to his cybernetic arm.
According to the gamebooks released at the time,
he was then immediately shot in half, serving as a distraction and buying the couple seconds Shaitan needed to help Rogue and Spider Murphy escape.

  2. I'm curious what chrome woolie will go with. If he likes knife throwing and builds towards it, it gets pretty OP later on. My knife thrower/katana wielder clears rooms in a single sandevistan. The only drawback was you have to keep a good gun to switch to for driving. It's also worth getting a few of the different Iconic knife weapons if you want to really maximize your throwing.

I'm also curious what happens when you send Jackie to Vik's, i've never done that so i have no idea. Hope you guys are well!

  3. I unironically prefer this version of events and their implications more than the canon ones. Silverhand the self appointed man of the people and hypocrite vs Smasher the monstrous machine of the corporations is a way cooler rivalry than one involving Blackhand who's above it.

  4. In the chase sequence, i'm convinced it's a fake gun that does no actual damage.
The whole sequence is heavily scripted. Each enemy dies when it's scripted to do, your bullets aren't actually dealing any damage.
    I am convinced of this.

Every single person's reaction seems to be "This gun sucks, what the fuck?"

  5. During the opening montage of V and Jackie building their rep, the radio DJ drops the line "NC's legends, know where you'll find most of 'em? The graveyard!" Right as the camera pans to Jackie posing with his handguns.
Our boy was destined to burn the moment he aimed for the stars.

  6. Here's the thing. At this point Cyberpunk is simply an alternate timeline that's few decades ahead of us. The original game was set in 2013. In 1990 they released Cyberpunk 2020. The current one, Cyberpunk Red, is set in 2045 and this game is set in 2077 after the world recovers a bit from whatever happened before 2045 and effed it up.

So yeah, 2023 is the past here… and was slightly in the future for us when we played this on launch but still the past for characters in the game.

  7. Johnny is such an unreliable narrator, but I love him for it.

His memories of what went down at Arasaka Tower are so self-centered and distorted, but that's what makes him so endearing later on (if you choose to raise your affinity with him).

"Yeah, after Shaitan got smoked, I jumped on the turret, mowed down like 50 guys, and ran down to the elevator. I was blasting everyone with headshots, and dropping one-liners. Then, Adam Smasher came outta nowhere. I managed to make it back to the rooftop, but that bastard got me from behind… I would've totally taken him in a fair fight…"

Meanwhile, in reality, Johnny got absolute demolished by Adam. Literally tore Johnny in half with his shotgun. Spider had to use SoulKiller on Johnny to try and save him (in its own special way) all while Morgan Blackhand literally solo'd Smasher and detonated the Nuke himself.

  8. Yea…I dunno why they thought it was a good idea to have Jackie give his drink recipe to the bartender. That just makes it blatantly obvious he is going to die soon.
I also think they should have made more missions before that heist. The time you spend with Jackie is just not enough to make you care about him that much. Though I will say I liked his funeral scene tho, and the talk with Misty later.

Oh btw in case you guys read this, you can get the fat dudes gun if you go back to the garbage place where his body is. His gun is special, it uses Credits as ammo. I dont remember if it was that good but I think its a neat gun.

  9. It's so weird to me when people don't want to inform their best friend's family of their best friend's death and let them prepare him for a funeral. American funerary culture is weird af.

  10. That's not a smart pistol, that's just ample aim assist from the game. Smart bullets will literally curve in mid air, and require a special piece of hand cyberware to use. Johnny's piece is a power pistol, it's bullets will ricochet off of surfaces.

  11. 28:52 there's a theory that the reason it cuts out here is cus Johnny Silverhand's ass gets saved by Morgan Blackhand.

Morgan Blackhand is considered Night City's greatest Solo / mercenary assassin….. and is mysteriously absent from this flashback, and from the game proper..

Actually there's a reason why & certain side quests and storylines tease at it…. but it was a buildup for the 2nd DLC that got cancelled.

Alas, hopefully we shall see Morgan Blackhand in a followup game.
