Grand Theft Auto 4, A 13 Year Old Game, Destroys Cyberpunk 2077

In recent weeks, we’ve compared Cyberpunk 2077 to open world megatons like GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and CDPR’s own The Witcher 3, and it hasn’t been a very good look for the new open world game. What’s surprising, however, is that it gets shown up in many ways even by a much older title.

GTA 4, which is almost 13 years old at this point, is full of tiny little details and flourishes that are missing in Cyberpunk 2077, which contributes significantly to the immersion factor in any open world title. Here, we’re going to take a look at fifteen such details.

  1. Yes, we get it, as you lot continue to beat the dead horse.
The game wasn't complete, so this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, a 13 year-old game (that was completed, mind you) beating it at every turn.

  2. I think gaming bolt is just milking Cyberpunk 2077… it's humanelly impossible to count how many "10 more things you don't know about Cyberpunk 2077", and now, you guys are just shiting on the hype YOU CREATED!
it's not about the bugs anymore, it's about your way of working.

  3. I played GTA IV and get what you mean. It runs great on my PC, which is considerably younger than the game. On the average machine in the past GTA IV also had some performance issues. And it also had bugs at release, even if not so many. Please keep in mind, that GTA IV was basically seriously developed for even more years by an established company with the foundation laid by GTA III about 7 years before its release. I think the comparison is therefore not quite fair, albeit legitimate. I am convinced that ,given the chance, CDPR will not only strongly improve this title, but also make a successor in this franchise and fulfill promises made including things missing in this title.

I write this video review now with another intention. Yes, you are right about these details. But Cyberpunk was not supposed to be a Cyber-GTA in the first place. Please appreciate more what this game does well. For example I enjoy the setting and atmosphere in spite of the lackluster NPC behavior. I still enjoy driving in Night City even without spectactular accident physics. (By the way there are things I would also find worth criticizing even in GTA5 driving.)

Now, I would like to see content creators supporting CDPR more in these tough times. Please help to keep CDPR above the water line, so we can enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 later with bugfixes and content DLCs, which may include additional features, improve gameplay and physics, add more quests and content. Please support this company and the game, so there will be a chance. I have much more to say, but I cut it short here.

So, my humble request to you and other content creators is to stay fair. Please stop bashing this title for aspects it was not designed to have, even if it creates clicks – especially with such sensational sounding headlines.

  4. What a surprise. A company that made 4 games, 2 of which are 3rd person open world games that follow the exact same concept did it better then a company's first time with a brand new IP. The fact that gamingbolt even compared the two shows what a fuckin joke you guys are.
