  1. While with upscaling performance drop was only 5-6% but with ray reconstruction performance drop is much higher at 15-30% depending on the scene.

Visual gains are definitely there though, ghosting is fixed, less noise, reflections are better and overall image has cleaner look.

Also note that CNN is bit buggy in the game where sometimes even though CNN is selected in graphic settings, game instead reverts to transformer model, so double check while using the same.

If you need dlls only and don't own Cyberpunk 2077, you can grab same from my discord server.

  2. i dont use path tracing since i dont think it is worth it on a 3070, and the performance drop for regular RT ultra from CNN to Transformer is almost 10fps! I do agree it looks sharper, maybe even more sharper than switching from DLSS balanced to DLSS quality where you'd also get a similar performance drop?
The question is, is it better to use DLSS performance + Transformer or DLSS balanced + CNN for better visuals at a similar framerate?

  3. With everything possible maxed out, including path tracing and using DLSS quality (no frame gen, just upscaling) I went from 75-80 FPS using CNN with ray reconstruction down to 60-75 FPS using Transformer with ray reconstruction. This is with 4070 Super on a 1080P monitor. But Transformer model looks much better so it is worth the FPS hit. I am still reluctant to use frame gen though or downgrade the DLSS quality.

  4. I'm interested to see the differences in frame gen using the transformer model as well on 40 series cards. Looks like we shld be able to use lower internal resolutions and get cnn 'quality' level output. This video is awesome… gonna grab that dll and get to it.

  5. Can someone explain what's going on here? I was the one who was worried that the new transformer model will hit performance hard. But when i turned it on, I had 0 FPS loss and even +0.5 AVG FPS in Cyberpunk Benchmark (after several tests). But here I see -5 or -6 FPS drops….. I have 4070 GPU

  6. Can dlss 4 be used with cnn model instead of transformer. I don't mind the quality, but it seems it's dropping a few frames from what I've seen so far, especially on older gpus (i have a 4060 laptop) is the frame gen gonna be better with both cnn and transformer or is it exclusive to just transformer?

  7. Great comparison.
The noise in the reflections seems to have improved significantly.
The performance hit is a bit of a bummer but maybe later iterations of DLSS will improve the performance as well.

  8. Sorry for my english. I’ve notice the same thing but i notice a lower power consuption with transformer. This thing make me hope for the missing new driver come with some optimisationfor the new tecnology. I try the frame gen mod and some mod for the path tracing and i’ve reach 70 fps with fg on,dlss balanced and near zero imput lag in comparison at 2 month ago. This make me think about they also implement reflex 2.0

  9. ray reconstruction costs 40% of my fps on a 2080ti at 4k if i use the new transformer model, but if i check it on 4080 with geforce now, it doesn't have any additional cost.
so i guess its down to slower tensor cores
