  1. AI is far superior at writing emotional scenes compared to whatever the developers of Starfield used. For example, very generic and simple AI GPT-4 prompt "Please rewrite this text to make the scene more emotional. Add relevant punctuation marks. Add indicators of emotions in square brackets" turns this dialog:

    Dialog between two criminals:

    – The price for this item has doubled now.

    – But this is not what we agreed upon.

    – You either pay for it or I'm leaving.

    – You are going to regret this.

    Into this:

    Tension-filled exchange between two criminals:
    – With a sinister chuckle, "The price for this precious item, my friend, has now skyrocketed to double its original cost." [introspective]
    – Startled with disbelief, "Hang on a minute! That's not remotely near what we initially agreed upon!" [shocked and bewildered]
    – With a cold, hard edge to his voice, "The deal's simple – either you pay up for it now or I'm taking my goods and leaving." [threatening]
    – With a dangerous glint in his eyes, "Mark my words, you are going to deeply regret this, sooner rather than later." [furious and ominous]

AI is capable to make generated speech more emotional via "Expressive Speech Synthesis" technology in TTS (Text-To-Speech) voices.

  2. Two games striving for two different goals. Cyberpunk is telling the story of V. V is who you make them out to be and there is a sense of controlling V but you can't really be V. V isn't you, V is just someone you're playing. Meanwhile, Starfield, you're playing you. You can fully put yourself in that role. Which means there will be less cinematics because you're in control. Whereas with V there will be things V just does because they are V. They're both great games striving for different goals. One has a lot more time to cook though don't forget that. Let's give Starfield 3 years to cook and see how that turns out I bet you it will be a better game than starfield in 2023.

  3. You're looking at the most complex quest in CP vs a mid in SF. Maelstrom quest is the only most flexible side quest in the whole of the game and most polished with varying outcomes. The rest of the game however is linear.

  4. Difference to why people shat on Cyberpunk 2077 is their peoples own unrealistic expectations…Though to be fair those twats promised the world but delivered mediocre unfinished garbage that needed a LOT more work. Not to mention scrapping shit because it was to much effort like wall climbing mantis blades, a functioning railroad, actually crowded streets, customizable cars, a 3rd person mode/3rd person cinematics, flying cars. And many other things.

  5. Do you guys remember when we feared for BG3 and Cyberpunk because they would be released at the same time as Starfield 😂, whereas now Starfield looks like a ten year old game

  6. Cinematic performance on pure first person pov without fixed camera positions is extremely hard in comparison to third person based. And very few if any first person game make cinemactic cut scenes to the same level as cyberpunk 2077, you can see that very clear in phantom liberty DLC
There are a lot of stuff I staple upon give me the feeling like ' wait, they even thought of this?' Just like when I play BG3 (I remember drove a NCPD car to Dog town and some town folk lighted up a sign on the door says' fuck Off, cops' or something like that)

So we should at least give CDPR that: They do have pioneer ideas and tried very hard to make it work. They are not playing it safe and satisfied with making above average games, they are deeply invested in their creations.

  7. "Hated by everyone"
The game always had soul and I always liked it fundamentally, CDPR got hate because they overpromised and couldn't deliver on a lot of things they never should've promised to begin with.
Also the bugs, but they never really bothered me much

  8. It's quintessential Bethesda. A bit shit, but it'll be turned into something else completely in a years time with mods. It's like their whole business model is built on relying on fans to fix the game.

  9. The problems are the Beth game design and the Creation Engine which are both more than 10 yrs old (if not 20) and not suited for contemporary gaming anymore, they were old and barely enough even back to the times of F4.
In 2023 an AAA open world need to bring something new to the table and SF simply does not deliver, instead it has a lot of old-gen mechanics, loading screens and graphics.
SF is not a "Bad" game, it's just an old game which would've been a total masterpiece 10 yrs ago but not now.
These problems will probably occur with TES 6 too.
Refusing to accept the truth by fanboys is not going to change the situation. Beth will keep using it delivering games that will look older and older as time pass..
And while Cyberpunk was rightfully criticised making CDPR wake up realizing their mistakes, Beth is acclaimed and will learn nothing.
Forgiving Starfield and calling it a masterpiece is actually the worst thing a Beth fan can do expecially looking at the next TES 6 release.

PS: i'm talking as a PC gamer and as a Beth enjoyer.

  10. Cyberpunk has actual vehicles. Starfield's "ships" are all just skill roadblocked inventories and minigames. Waiting this long for a game so inferior to Witcher3, Rdr2, and No Man's Sky (all of which are 4+ years old) is confounding. Load screens seem to be a feature; just do a few missions in Neon. Witcher had entire continents with buildings you could explore without a loading screen. Empty worlds, bland inoffensive characters and writing. Just play the ME trilogy if you want Bethesda space games. Why i had any faith in Bethesda making a good game after Fo76 i have no idea, im going back to playing Bannerlord and Cyberpunk, this game is tedious and inferior to titles they published over a decade ago. Bethesday reused so many mechanics its nauseating; just a reskinned Space Fallout. You see stuff like the old smoking animation where npc's will hold their hand up, and they just removed the cig so now random npc's just hold their hand up when they are at rest. Couldnt you remove this shit? You had how many years and it's just a space fallout with no grit. I spend all my time managing inventory, fast traveling, and you somehow made the loadscreens worse and more frequent? What a waste.

  11. My current replay I got the payment card from the corpo-lady but hacked it to remove the virus and ended up be-friending another corpo that took over for her failure…VERY different from going in shooting from the start. Or even starting to shoot midway through as I did before that…

  12. Of course there's a cutscene for sitting down…it's the same old engine, working the same old way and creating the same damn game it has been for 20 plus years. Bethesda can add all the 2.0's to it they like, but it's the same thing with higher visual fidelity.

  13. It's not even really a comparison, for starters fall out and cyberpunk are two totally different games with a different play feel. I've put allot of time into both. And both are fantastic games. Sure they have their problems but that's like 99.9998 % of games in present day. It's rare to see a flawless launch. This is just comparing apples to oranges, and saying see, this apples better than that one. Granted my only complaint about starfield is the sitting down cut scenes.
