Cyberpunk 2077 vs. Starfield

Cyberpunk 2077 and Starfield are obviously going for two very different kinds of experiences, with the former being much more cinematic and narrative-driven, and the latter being more focused on its systems-driven sandbox. But as massive first-person RPGs, they also have plenty in common, to the point where it’s quite easy to make comparisons between the two, especially at a time when both of them are so heavily in the zeitgeist.

There’s a whole lot to love about Starfield, and though Cyberpunk 2077 had a rough couple of years after launch, at this point, after Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty there’s plenty to like about it as well- but when the two are pit against each other, which one comes out on top? Here, we’re going to try and answer that question, as we compare the Bethesda and CD Projekt RED RPGs across multiple categories.

  1. Played both and they’re both good in their own way. 2077 has a way better story while starfield is ironically less buggy. 2077 has more mission variety while starfield is mostly fetch quests with space battles.

  2. Cyberpunk in its first month was a trash fire. It got better after 3 years. Compare Starfield after several years, and we’ll see.

At least I can play both on my Xbox…

  3. Dude, this guy is reading a paper from Todd Howard? Starfield is a shallow piece of shit with terrible rpg skill trees that make no sense. Cyberpunk even at launch on. Good pc was 10 times the game starfield is now .

  4. cyberpunk 2077 is good right now but it does not deserve the recognition people are giving it to people are very lenient now after what they did at lunch with that game how are you guys just gonna easily forgive cd, project for not making this type of game from the start All the constant lies that they fed to you all at I don’t count a game that took three years after launch to get to a point where the features that were promised since the games conception were sprinkled at us over constant updates this is the game that we should’ve gotten from the start a game that should’ve been delayed at least another year to implement these features at least Starfield launched in a decent state and had tons of Contant and stories at least the game was completely playable at launch with an almost infinite amount of things to do and see

  5. Cybertrash was trash in December of 2020 and it's still trash in 2023&beyond.

    No 3rd person mode.
    No factions.
    No role playing.
    first person shooter trash.
    You can't customise cars.
Cybertrash was so bad that sony had to remove it from the online store.
CDPR have completely screwed over the ps4 and xbox one users.

CDPR, should stick to what they are good at.Making Mediocre fantasy games based on Mediocre books.

  6. I have not heard very many positives about Starfield. I have been a Bethesda fanboy since Morrowind's release until the Fallout 76 release. Fallout 76 really did a number on my faith in Bethesda. I never really got into the Witcher franchise yet but I have played Cyberpunk 2077 since launch so that is the game I know and love now. I might eventually get Starfield but it will only be after it is significantly reduced in price.

  7. Cyberpunk 2077 is full price plus $30 for the dlc on Xbox digital store front. They made a broken game and took 3 years to make it actually playable on console, then charge full price again. Nah, you can condone this level of incompetence and deception from the start.
