  1. If you choose to go with Rogue at the end of the game there interaction that proves Johnny died on the rooftop. (At least according to 2077 and not 2013 2020 source or supplemental material)
Right before you take off with wetland and Rogue “Johnny” V board the chopper and V slips backward as it takes off. Rogue reaches out and catch “Johnny’s” V’s hand says”Not this time” and plus him into the chopper. This call back to what happened 50 years ago when they hit the tower. Whether cdpr or Pondsmith chose to change the material from the tabletop for immersion or freshness we will never truly know. Also Blackhand will not be showing up in the expansion, Pondsmith stated as a such. The likely hood of Johnny lying being cleared up is not likely yo happen.

  2. Great video! I made a video on the same topic a couple weeks ago and there's a lot to delve into on these specific points of time related to Silverhands memories. The cut after his initial encounter is when I believe Arasaka begins to edit his engram in Mikoshi. In order to properly interrogate him in soul prison. This is way later down the line however.

  3. I wonder if he didn’t lie, but is just delusional. Maybe soulkiller tech isn’t perfect and engram Jonny has fragments of memories that he is piecing together as he goes, or maybe Jonny never remembered things correctly even before soulkiller was used.

  4. Two possibilites: one, his memory is hazy, a case of unreliable narrator. Two, the memories stored on the engram have been altered by Arasaka. Including the removal of Morgan Blackhand from those memories (he's likely Mr Blue Eyes.)

  5. The Silverhand engram is a mash up of the partial data taken off Johnny's corpse & Morgan's full soulkiller scan. During the soulkiller part of the memory, the tech says her husband died in the blast & Johnny says he didn't mean for him to die. Morgan was the fabled pacifist. The engram is designed for Johnny not to know he's partially Blackhand.

  6. Silverhand lying isn't shocking, but some of those memories you see could've been altered by Arasaka, or a result of his own psychosis.

Blue-Eyes is not Blackhand, he's a proxy for someone or something else, likely the AI from NightCorp.

Blackhand, based on in-game news articles, is alive, in NC, and has been battling Lazerus agents.

  7. Looks like CD project red is taking a Witcher approach towards storytelling, that being a post modernist approach towards truth, that it being subjective or not Noable. Its interesting in a philosophical abstract approach, but dangerous in a practical real world usage if in the wrong hands, as recent times have shown. love to see they're taking it story wise in the next DLC.

  8. Alt Cunningham told us as much when we. meet her. During the rescue Alt flashback we play Johnny’s memory of the events. Alt claims they are memories of Johnny’s altered versions of what happened but couldn’t be further from the truth.

  9. all what big Dan is saying can be backed up by the lore of cyberpunk books even a different YouTuber said the same thing and I think cdpr changed cyberpunk story from it real story in the books to be a favor to keuna so cdpr said why not make him a game then put him in it flip the story around to make it look like jhonny a gd guy in actually he's a corpo terrorist who killed alot of ppl and I would say iam not supid I see how jhonny is lieing alot of the story dnt match up plus in the lore some girl has jhonny boddy and car hiden arasaka dose not have his body and what we see is partly what happen to black hand butt cdpr put jhonny in that place like I said a favor to keuna

  10. Remember it's 2077 not 2020 so the storyline is going to be off the rails somewhat.

Also keep in mind that since they DIDN'T add Blackhand other than in passings which truly hurt my heart because he was the real deal in being a solo/corps pro, they also didn't focus on Spider Murphy as much because she was as good as Rache.

  11. Hey I hate to poopoo this entire video, but if the source of the info doesnt come from the game directly then we cant use it. the developers confirmed that the game takes place in an alternate universe. In this universe things happened differently, certain people are removed from evens (namely Blackhand). Things did happen exactly as we saw them in Johnnys memories, in this game, because the original events are a different canon. You say yourself that Projekt Red may have deviated from the canon events and thats exactly what they did, they said so.

  12. Nope Johnny does not lie. Its how he used to see the world with him in the center. You can see this attitude change little by little throughout the game with V (post his death).

    – Blackhand story I think mostly is cut content. The in game dialogs and do-dads acknowledge existence of backhand, where as scenes at Tower does not even mention. Or has another chopper.
    – Johnny says he never worked with Thompson again after 2013, except 2023 he is there on the assault on the tower. My guess is Thompson is also cut content.
    – Johnny has a 'star of the show' syndrome. But also highly impulsive. Also thinks end justifies means, Therefore My guess is Johnny agreed to work with Militech for hitting back at Arasaka than just pure sell out.
    – Johnny's info is unreliable from the get go. However his death scenes are a retcon from lore-books to add flavor and setup Soulkiller scene. You can trust him to outline the story, but never details ; either are skewed because his star syndrome, or plain lie to reach his goal (pre death JS).
    – I think the story was partly setup for JS to visit all his old crew – Rogue, Thomp, Shaitan, Spider, and make amends to them. All his crew simply 'vanishes' post nuke except Rogue. And JS at the grave confesses to his wrongs 'maybe im done pretending… Either letdown or used everyone that trusted me'.

So technically its not lies , just CDPR presentation of Johnny's pre-soulkiller way of seeing things. Johnny's entire story arc is very subtle, how he used to be an a-hole, and post-soulkiller-Johnny realizing bit by bit how F-d up he was seeing how the world has moved on Arasaka, Militech still standing strong. Realizing he had people that cared for him but he was far too tunneled into his own world, and going back to make amends from the second chance he was given.

  13. As a construct whose psyche is linked to V, I don't think he lied to V, he lied to both V and himself. In his view and perception, that was what went down or should've went down, blurring the two. I think the static and scene cut between him facing smasher in the tower and on the roof is a jarring disconnect that should alert the player that something is very wrong here.

  14. sounds more like he was lying to himself then us since we literally had access to his brain. Throughout the story your consciousness merge. On one playthrough I had been nice to johnny so at the end of double life the scene broke with me smoking instead of giving me the option to refuse, just an odd change I noticed.

  15. Why do I increasingly get the feeling that the Johny we meet in the game isn't Johny Silverhand himself, but an AI composite made from the memory shards from both Johny Silverhand's corpse, and memories extracted during torture of Morgan Blackhand?

  16. it doesnt make sense to play a game then say "this game's character lied to you" and point to a book that is not part of the game as "proof"
if doing so was valid then that means 100% of the book is right and always supersedes the game
this would imply the story in the game is fake and the book is the only true retelling, making the game's story pointless anytime there is a discrepancy.
and it would all be for zero benefit, the game never tells you "well that was an interesting but false version of events, if you want the real deal go buy the book" a.k.a. your vid is garbage.

  17. Its the CDPR cyberpunk timeline specifically for the game cause the assault on saka tower happens twice ,first was to get alt out by having a samurai concert infront of saka tower (arasaka riot) and the second was the fourth corporate war about 7 years later with blackhand leading 2 strike teams one of which silverhand was a part of

  18. first of all you have the source book.. and then you have the game that was made.
i think alot of the source book was intended to be part of the game but like alot things not everything worked out like it did.
second of all do you know when the source book was written and when the game was altered.

  19. Not Johnny! He'd never lie after choking you out on your own apartment floor and tell you he intends to take your body!
I am underwhelmed. It's obvious he's manipulative, but the real question is, is what he's asking you to do worth the trouble. A lot of what he says does ring true in the mind of anyone who's lived right next to disaster their entire life, in many ways what he said on emotional levels rang true in my own heart. Fact is, it's always up to you if you decide to act on his requests, if that bugs you, you're acting against your own moral code. 😉
