  1. Roque was done with arasaka, maybe she made a deal with behind the scenes, and maybe that’s why she chillin in the afterlife without a scratch like Grayson said.

  2. You made some fair points but I want to bring in some perspective from early in game. One Jackie V and Evelyn are all basically broke. If Evelyn could hire Rouge she would have enough money to get out of night city or at least to start packing and planing. V to get parts from Vic on credit probably because hes friends with him and Jackie. You relay think you are a Low lv merc barely getting by probably scraping to make rent would not try to get in with a fixer in the afterlife which the only way to get in is rep or on someone else name and Dex was that way in. If TBug had not know him It would taken Jackie and V maybe a year maybe two or three before getting enough rep to just get in. Then even after you survive everything getting out of the hotel and make it to Rouge. Your just a green merc who has barely made it into the afterlife the only reason rouge gave you any look is you had enough infamy from the failed job for her to talk to you. If you had not had Johny in your head you would have no info to get closer to her to get anywhere. You rampage all over the city getting jobs done for Wako, Deno and the rest you walk into the club and well your just a merc who fucked up on one big job the rest dosent mater .. though that might just be cause the story doesn't take in side jobs. I would love an alternate story where you make it out with out the chip in your head and you still have to take down Arasaka but with out a bomb in your head.

  3. The flaw I see in your analysis is: Evelyn and suckers (except V) reasoned to themselves they are not jumping Arasaka itself, but just Yori only (V clarifies this with Evelyn). Why not V, well she is the junior member and has only 6 months into being a merc and follows Jackies lead. Jackie, though not the brightest bulb, plus blinded by getting into the "Major Leagues", and maybe with his work history, the high-end Fixers do not want to work with him So, when Dex came along, he jumped at the chance, via T-Bug. As for Dex, he had to lay low, therefore he buggered something up 2 years ago forcing him into exile. As for Rogue… well, as Johnny says, she will not deal with someone that is still in Merc diapers.
What makes me confused is how this all starts. As mentioned in Cyberpunk Red, Johnny is dead, being cut in half via auto shotgun by Smasher, (pg 124 that would be extremely messy and Corpo V even makes mention "the ghost of the man cut in two") Thus the interrogation and being Soul killed, would not have happened, he would be hamburger all over the floor, walls, maybe the ceiling. There would not be any time to scoop him out, too much fighting still going on, he has bled out even before the nuclear detonation, that would incinerate Johnny to ash in milliseconds.

But let's take 2077 verson: how in the world did Yori even figure out Johnny's engram is even there, not like Daddy would even mention, to someone that is untrustworthy, plus he forgot about JS by 2077 until he travelled to Night City to confront Yori (it's in his pad). Also, why in the world would Yori put a first generation ingram on an untested second-generation biochip, let alone why even bother to place an engram on it in the first place?? Then there are the Voodoo boys figuring out that it even exists, not even remotely possible, they are Netrunners, not clairvoyant. The only way the Voodoo boys would know is if Yori tells them, and that is not likely.

  4. I could be wrong but if I remember correctly, part of the deal Rogue made was to never set foot on Arasaka grounds, as well as never be involved in doing anything to them. In exchange she is free and clear of any charges during the bombing.

As for Dex, he was on a "Vacation" hiding out from the Voodoo Boys.
No other fixer wants to get involved with let alone cross Voodoo Boys, Evelyn really had no choice but to choose Dex.

Part of the backstory with Dex is in a few shards in Pacifica.

It's 1 part Dex wanting revenge on Voodoo Boys, 1 part Evelyn being greedy and another part everyone getting played. I see it no different then someone dropping $100.00+ on hopes of winning the lottery every week.

I truly believe V is spreading a virus around Night City by interacting with shards, hacking, ect. While thinning down the heard and taking out all the major gangs and corporations. All so a popular corporation can come in and take it over with little pushback, as V cleaned it all up.

To loop this all back to the video. I don't think any person or group are dumb, but blinded by greed, survival, and selfishness.

  5. The Heist crew are indeed idiots. Except maybe V, since he knew they were taking a shortcut to the "major leagues" and even during his convos with Jackie he is indeed irritated at how things seem to unfold. Evellyn was basically a prostitute, Jackie was a low level merc/former gang grunt and Dex had obviously fucked something up if he had to disappear for 2 years prior. The entire story is about people rushing to the top only to crash down spectacularly. Oh and jumping with parachutes would just make them slow moving targets, any Arasaka drone would just turn them into minced meat.

Yorinobu stole the chip because he knew what it meant if Saburo had immortality tech. He probably didn't mean to kill his own father in his apartment, but it would've happened either way and it was a good move to dismantle Arasaka. His motives were part loathing for his father, and part self preservation because he likely knew he would be prime candidate as his father's "host".

  6. That heist was definitely poorly planned LOL. Also, before the RELIC there should have been a series of missions for you to do to build up your bond with Jackie, and link up with T bug leading to the big heist, that alone could have added an extra 10 – 12hrs to the game. I love this game but there were many missed opportunities, hopefully, in the next game, it's made using unreal engine so the team can spend more time creating content without having to cut corners to take stuff out.

  7. Couple of points need clarification…. First off we aren't hitting Arasaka Towers, which Rogue hit with Johnny previously… Between Evelyn and V (if you go Corpo) you have knowledge of the hotel that you are pulling the heist at. It's also suspected that Rogue (who hit Arasaka with Silverhand) is in Arasaka's pocket, as she suffered no retaliation for the Tower job. I agree with you that Dex is the worst fixer they could have gone with. But as far as Yorinubu goes, they would have NO clue that he was working to take Soburo down… None… The whole point of the story is for you to (potentially) figure that out or not… I def agree they needed much better planning by far… and while we are into this I didn't trust T-bug from the outset. I felt as if she and Dex were gonna double cross me from the beginning. All in all you made some fair points but as they say, "Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20."

  8. Here is an odd thought… What if Yorinobu engineered the whole heist himself?…. What if he was the one who leaked the info to the VB's? What if he had Brigit go to Evelyn, and even mentioned in passing at some point Dex's name in front of Evelyn? What if his plan all along was to free Johnny's engram to wreak havoc on Arasaka from the outside, while he worked to bring it down from the inside after Soburo's murder? What if Jackie and V were supposed to be "patsy's" from the get go, one way or another? Whether it's being taken out by Dex after the heist and blamed for Soburo's murder, and there was another who was supposed to have the chip inserted into? What if they engineered a clone or something of Johnny that was supposed to get the chip? Kinda ties in with some of the rumours about the DLC that have been talked about regarding Silverhands body…. Just spit-balling here though.

  9. I think the idea is that v and jackie go for a romp over the span of a year or so and get really close and because v trust jackie he goes through with it. What is jackies motivation throughout his character arc it is that he wants to make it big! So because rogue wont give them the time of day they have to try and gain some cred with dex witch jackie is convinced is a high roller and way to gain a lot of cred but a lot of these characters I think we have to consider that they are doing these jobs more for necessity then for preference. I agree with every thing you said about dex how stupid he is and how poor a lot of decisions are but these characters have more motivation to risk it all to make it big then to play it safe and stay small time. At the very least in jackies case. V seems to just go with the flow most of the time especially with Jackie

  10. In the game Dex was on the run from the Voodoo Boys for a couple of years. I'm not sure where it was explicitly said, but it was the impression I got from the dialog when asking about Dex. This is most likely what got Evelyn to use Dex since she already knew of him through her contacts.

Evelyn's ONLY job was to do a BD about the hotel room's security. This we see from one of the BDs. Nothing else. She puts the plan in motion herself.

Jackie is a starstruck fanboy. The thing is that I had the impression that Dex's idea was always to kill V and Jackie off to keep the money. Maybe even T-Bug. Jackie would never have considered this and eventually V is helping and following their friend.

T-Bug's plan… Private island and so on? That's very expensive. She and Dex have that 50/50 deal going on. Jackie and V are to be snuffed at the end.

V's not that dumb here, but they're talked over.

However the reason why they go along with Dex is the very fact what the world here is. It is cold, harsh. We all want to leave a legacy, something that makes us remembered. In that post-apocalyptic fascist-capitalist world this is even more aching need. To be remembered and this isn't an option to 99.99% of the people. It's desperation that drives Jackie, to get out of where he is and become more. He's dangled a delicious piece of meat and like a hungry dog he takes it. V is realising this during the mission and becomes more and more highstrung as things go on. Their worst fears materialised in the end.

  11. Apologies for possibly replicating some of the answers/comments from others.
First off, it is worth remembering you (V) and Jackie are small fry. You do bit jobs, some of which we know from the prologue are from Padre, others from Wako. At present you are nothing and extremely expendable. Rogue would have no interest in you, remember you had to pay her a lot for info and then you had to do a trial run job for her (Panam) before she would do anything else. Additionally it is not until you have a high level of Street Cred in the game that you start getting missions from her.
On Dexter – it is mentioned at some point that something went wrong resulting in him having to feel Night City for several years. Being from both before you and Jackie started working together and the fact you are both bottom feeders means that Dexter will be a name, but not much more than that, so when Jackie is contacted he puts 2 and 2 together and sees nothing but the money.
If anything T-Bug is at fault here, but there we do not know her relationship with yourselves, just that she takes part in some of your gigs and takes her cut. Presumably she is supplied by which ever fixer you are using. It may well be the case that Dexter mentions to her he needs to find a couple of fall guys/expendables for a job and she puts forwards your names.
I agree Evelyn was out of her depth and just got greedy. We do not know if Dexter was the first fixer she went to or if others had already rejected her job. We do know she is delusional in her views.
The actual robbery, in theory it was a flawed plan only in that there was no fall back, no contingency. A bigger question would be, if it had worked, would all the group be happy after with V and Jackie getting more work, or would Dexter have set them up as fall guys for an upset Arasaka.

  12. Dex used to run things in Pacifica but burned a lot of bridges and pissed off the VDB, and had to skip town until things died down there. As for success as a fixer, he was almost on Rogues level, but opted to choose mercs for gigs based on his gut feelings and not because he had a roster of mercs to dip into. This is probably also how he screwed things up in Pacifica. He was basically trying to get back to the top of the heap in street cred with a huge crazy job and given how he operates, makes sense that he'd choose up and coming mercs to both screw financially AND can write off if things go sideways. All V and Jackie know is that he was a big name in NC and that this job could be their way into the "big leagues". V and Jackie basically don't know enough of the game outside of street merc petty crime nonsense to know how bad his job stinks and T-Bug is hoping this is her way out of NC for good. Basically akin to playing merc lottery. Evie thought she was smarter/smoother than she actually was and tried to mess with the wrong people in the hopes of also getting enough to get her and maybe Judy out of NC as well. Are all these people dumb? No, not necessarily. They are flawed in different ways with piss poor motivation, but at the same time, this is kinda what makes cyberpunk as a genre so great. It puts a mirror up to us and says, "when things get this bad and desperate and you are constantly being taken advantage of, how soon will you decide to take something back and do you think you can actually fight against the machine of society?" Johnny thought he was doing something to Arasaka and the corpos all those years ago, but the conversation you have with him after getting the bootleg recording from the old guy says it all.

  13. They weren’t high enough level for Rogue. That’s probably the lore reason. Remember Jackie gushing over Dexter. Even if he left for two years he is still considered a prominent fixer for the afterlife nightclub. Rogue is content. She only starts making moves after seeing your progress and hearing the Jonny rumors.

  14. To be honest, if Saburo hadn't showed up, the heist would have gone smooth, also i think Evelyn Parker didnt go to Rogue in the first place wasa because she was planning to double cross the fixer in the first place.

  15. I recently went back to intro of cyberpunk and realized something. Jackie never wanted us to succeed. He wanted us to go down with him. I think he shove the chip up in our heads because he was dying and he already saw what’s gonna be coming so he disconnected relic from himself and gave it to us we would survive and had our 5 minutes but not for long.

  16. To be fair, I think they progressed it the way they did in order for it to be unavoidable that V would have to slot in the chip. Without the case being damaged from the shooting and the fall, the fall that ultimately kills Jackie, there would have been no need to slot in the chip. I’m sure they could have reworked it. I don’t mind them killing Jackie, I just wish the montage hadn’t been a montage. If they had let us play that part of the game with Jackie, building our rep and doing missions, it would have been so much better.

  17. Well the way the whole heist was setup it definitely seemed like they originally planned for it to be a branching path, like having to choose to side with evelyn or not, maybe even a meredith path, it was the only mission that was like that, all the other missions are in your face linear, it was just all absolutely rushed out the oven the only way they'd be able to finish the game on time is to make it linear.

  18. you have to activate your windows dude, or is that the name of all your guns xD

I agree with you on the issues with the story, and agree V is technically the bad guy; it's like GTA, you are the criminal. I think the game could have used another couple years in development, I think the game would have been amazing in Unreal engine 5. they got rid of a lot of the table top and simplified it to a basic rpg and night city was so bland and could have had so much more, V isn't the only Merc aiming for greatness, and it would have been nice to see other mercs showing up in the world and doing gigs, even having them mess up or try kill you becuase thats their gig. Felt a lot like a power fantasy instead of you being a no name with a terminal ghost :/
