In this video I am trying out the Cyberpunk 2077 third person mod for the first time. The mod initially released 3 years ago in 2021, so you could say I’m extremely late to to this. TL;DW: surprisingly fun.

  1. The weirdest thing is that you can see NPCs using abilities and fight with great animation, but I gues it would take some work to slap all these animation on V and make them playable and feel good.

  2. I remember hearing about how they originally intended to have first and third person options in the game (kind of like in Skyrim) but it ended up getting cut because of time constraints and the usual bs

  3. Personally, I would not want to play the game in 3rd person especially not in the cutscenes, because seeing the other characters and their reactions directly through V's eyes makes it much more immersive for me (obv. it wouldn't hurt me though if people who want that would have the option). But I really wish they had polished the character model and it's posture enough to let us take normal 3rd person screenshots when V is sitting down or leaning on something. In Vanilla, photomode will only allow 1st person screenshots in those scenes.

  4. I'd prefer Third person tbh. I liked Hardcore Henry, but I don't need every medium with sci-fi futuristic experience to literally be in my face for me to get immersed or feel something.

  5. Why can't we get the NPC modle and assign it to V? If from the beginning CDPR was like that, they just need to adjust the first-person camera right at V's eye level and for animations they just need to zoom in or zoom out the camera to do it. Right from the first perspective, I think it's effective

  6. 3:45 i think it's because they use Jali ? one of their technological system where their mouth match what the audio sounds like. they probably parent it to V's mouth occasionally.
Jali advantages is that they use procedural system so they use the game engine to match their audio to characters mouth in different languages.

  7. I still wish for a professionally made third person mod. I think keeping first person for combat and cutscenes is important, maybe a mix of both in some places, but would be cool to see third person option work for everything else with proper animations

  8. i feel like the shift to 1st person was just a way for the devs to catch up on the deadline of the release. games like skyrim and rdr are still immersive despite them being in 3rd person… on top of that there were options to play in 3rd or 1st.

  9. i hate that there IS a fix that i have found where someone painstakingly fixed almost every animation by hand… however, since they are a coomer, it was all done for a modded body type that looks ridiculous as the proportions are almost wacky and bimbo-like. hard pass for me, but maybe others will like such a thing

  10. Should've gone the Bethesda way and make the POV interchangable. Cause I'd be more immersed in a game if I have the ability to both experience it from 1st person and third. Otherwise, character customization is useless when you're not able to see the changes…

  11. i wonder if they were gonna try making this game like fallout, where its third and first person, but realized given the state the game it just wasn't gonna happen, just given all the outfits, and customization, alot of scenes look seriously good here, but when it came to animations they just had to scrap the idea and cut corners for the animations you couldn't see, would explain why some animations like dancing looks so good, and others not so much

Plus, these are the guys behind the witcher, they know how to make a good third person experience, really seems like it was just a time issue

  12. I do hope Orion we have ability to go third person while sitting while having dialogue with characters I’m fine with first person fighting all that but cool to see v talk and feels more like movie

  13. I tried this mod after finishing the game. the only thing I want is the gta-style cinematic cutscenes like what was shown in 04:20.
looks like cdpr cutscenes budget were really cut short to increase the marketing budget 😂

  14. I cannot express how unimmersive first-person view is for me, which is a shame because I just cannot enjoy this game at all. It feels way more like a First-Person Shooter than an immersive RPG and that just entirely ruins the experience for me. I put 60 hours into it and it was really shallow and hollow overall, and a lot of it came down to the first-person view that kept kicking me out of the immersion. What you said about them putting so much emphasis on character customization only for you to almost never see your character gradually grow hit the mark so well. Shame is what it is.

  15. I do like the first person gameplay but I do hope in the sequel that the Cutscenes are 3rd person.
And if they wanna make it immersive, they could do a smooth switch when a Cutscene ends, the camera smoothly goes to V's POV, Modern Warfare 2019 does something similar.

  16. As much as I would like a third person mode and cutscenes, I hope they keep the next one first person only too. You essentially never loose control of your character, and it does wonders to the immersion.
