Welcome to Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City. Come up to the rooftop near Vik’s and spend a final hour with Johnny Silverhand to contemplate your fate. This soundtrack video features an extended version of the unreleased cello music heard during the suicide ending of Cyberpunk 2077. This mix was arranged by myself using gamerip audio files, as this is an unofficial release credit goes all three of Cyberpunk’s incredible composers – P. T. Adamczyk, Paul Leonard-Morgan, and Marcin Przybyłowicz!

  1. Went through this ending on my first playthrough (I played all 7 endings/routes to see them) and it is like a sucker punch to the gut. The way the camera slowly pans out, and then the sound almost cuts out before the gunshot? I was already crying, and then the voice messages after…what the hell

  2. The way how Night City just continues on after that gunshot… All those phone video messages after… should be linked next to the Suicidal Prevention lines, honestly.

Wasn't planning on crying today, change of plans then!

  4. Composers of the game turned soundtrack into pure reflection of the game's story, which barely can be separated from it.
I haven't seen other endings, except Star, only know the "final result" of each, but via the music design i can easily understand what you feel about each of them as the final stroke of this story and it allows you to have a look with different perspective on the whole story, even if it's too far from yours.

Sun – in the whole song we hear parts of Been Good to Know Ya, which shows the sadness of upcoming end and sorrow about being forgotten for ages. But at the end, track shows us mix of despair faith that all of it wasn't for nothing and coming to the edge of something more grand than human's life, probably being at the entrance of Eternity, which emphasized by drum beats and synthesizer. And the very last feature – it's the only ending where the final words of "Never Fade Away" are taken from Samurai's version, and it makes so much sense as both Johnny deep inside wanted not to be forgotten(as we see at his unnamed grave) and Samurai, as any other band, wanted their music surpass its creators and live separate and longer life. And these words are suddenly intermeted, like man's life abruptly stops.

Devil – the first part of "Secure your Soul" is really fits to the name of the ending with sinister vibe and ideally transfers the fear of inevitable death and impossibility of having another outcome. And the second part is fragment of "Never fade Away" which just depicts all the despair and sorrow what V feels from his choice. And especially highlihted the words "what you did to me", which desperately screamed by different voices, as V with this choice not only betrayed himself but also Johnny and all the people which gave him a hand during this story, as all these efforts went to nowhere. Probably it's the only ending where V really lost everything, and it's stunningly conveyed through the music. And the music also suddenly stops in the end, like in Sun ending – with the same metaphorical meaning.

Suicide – i guess the whole melody is just synonym of the word "Emptiness". Even the fact of the sad acceptance of death goes somewhere to the background. Only Emptiness remains – can't say more.

Temperance – despite the whole melody sounds pretty chill for the game's ending, it's only a shell. We all know that Johnny played all the time on electric guitar, even in his afterlife and was "a metal soul" as the line from Never Fade Away says – both physically, mentally and on the stage(as Samurai played heavy music). And in this ending we hear acoustic guitar which is complete opposite to what he'd been all the time. But not now – it's already changed person, as his journey with V affected him pretty much to the point that he sees no sense in having opportunity for the second life – as his own came to pretty logical end, which he chose himself and never regreted about it. And now Johnny got the life which he really doesn't need anymore instead of the person which he'd wanted to give another chance. All this accompanied by cello, which is already almost signature part of the songs connected with Silverhand(even in Rebel path), but in this case – showing more sadness about the life which has gone, and the life which goes on but doesn't make much sense anymore. I believe this ending is about conscious acceptance in general – even if your life is gone, but someone else will continue. And this melody excellently underlines that.

Star – this is the most peaceful melody among the all endings, and it creates the feeling like going back to the home after long and exhausting journey. Even if this "home" is endless road. The music itself fits to Nomads lifestyle – like in the head appears the image of chit-chatting around the bonfire with playing the guitar and already the next day going somewhere else without coming back – in other words just living in the moment. Also the second part is ideally illustrate the feeling of unclear future with the fragile hope for something better and for the first time feeling a glimpse of freedom – as it foreshadows future Misty's words in the message, probably one of the most important in this story, "Good luck, V. Be free"

I guess, one of the subtle feelings in this game is Acceptance. That sometimes your life could go wrong. That you can't change too much. And sometimes you have just to embrace it.
And every Cyberpunk ending has it. But even this feeling can be too different – "giving up" with tiredness of everything like in Suicide ending. So desperately trying to catch the twinkle of fading life that it only leads to acceptance from hopelesness in Devil ending. Accepting the death with the slight hope of leaving any mark in this world as in the Sun ending. Sacrificing yourself for others and accepting unavoidable outcome and at the same time accepting that you should go on even if your life does not make sense anymore in general like in Temperance ending. Or subconsciously accept the upcoming end but still continue go your way, no matter how much time left, and doing everything what you can against fate, as it's just your natural way of living.

I don't know how i would act if i face something like this one day in my life as any of these attitudes and endings make sense.
But this music captures all the feelings which you probably would feel in such cases and allow you to understand each perspective in this story, put yourself in that place and realize or reconsider your view at some things. May be even about your real life, who knows.

  5. This is one of those pieces of media where the soundtrack elevates the entire thing. Similar to something like Game of Thrones, or Star Wars. Just a fantastic example of amazing original scoring by the composers. Absolutely superb music from front to back; every single scenario.

  6. Like many others, This was also my first ending and I'll honestly, I'll never forget it. I think of this ending the most. I've been through a rough ride these last few years in my life and I feel like I can relate very well to the main character and to the story. Unforgettable, extraordinary game. I loved every moment I could spend on this game. To V! To CDPR!

  7. Judy’s voicemail hit me the hardest even tho I couldn’t romance her. She only rlly has 2 close friends in the game Evelyn and V

-Evelyn dies by suicide because Judy steps out for a little bit. Judy blames herself for the suicide.

-Judy leaves Night city forever leaving V there, then finds out V killed his/herself. From her point of view she’s now left both of her closest friends to die alone in Night City…she’s blaming herself

  8. A truly piece of beautiful music, hidden away behind a terrible and heart-breaking choice. However, it has to be said at how amazingly different each ending is…it plays into that RP aspect really well! Whether you eventually decided that V was just another victim of Night City and take this way out, give Johnny a second chance at redemption or fight alongside your new Nomad family (and potential lover) on a potential one-way trip into 'hell'. I need to replay this game again soon… 😭

  9. thank you so much for this slow, although i was trying my best to forget this ending exists but still, it’s one hell of a sentimental, dark horrifying soundtrack that literally sounds like pure despair, bitterness and hollowness, it’s the feeling of certainty that you will be gone and forgotten, will definitely be crying less than 10 minutes in…

  10. 8:39 listening to this part reminds me of V and johnny’s loved ones immediately, all those people that they let down after a “second chance” to try and fix things even a little bit, this soundtrack is a painful reminder that even second chances don’t work sometimes 🙁 i would give up my left t!t just to never get this ending lol
