Cyberpunk 2077 is claimed to be in the midst of a bounce back when you look at recent Steam reviews. However, as much as I love the game, I feel the news cycle only suggests there’s a ways to go before we hit that point.

  1. Ok did cyberpunk release buggy: yes
was it a bad game: no
did it need more time: sure
but it was about as glitchy as Fallout 4 was (I did turn off most of the graphical special effects though, on xbox one (base) btw ) it worked fine like 80% of the time, it did crash about every 3 hours though, only 3 bugs made parts difficult, but reloading trying again usually fixed that (plus a patch fixed a quest that wouldn't complete).
But have I played it all the way through 1 1/2 times, other games came out and moved on after like 5 months after getting it, would try it again after DLC (or if I got a series X)

  2. I will toss out a take, and I say this not owning a Playstation, but I think maybe Cyberpunk should try to make some kind of deal to go on Playstation's new store, or update, or whatever Game Pass rival they are trying to form. Game Pass already has plenty of games, and Xbox and PC have the big hit of Starfield coming in 2022. Given all the bad blood of being pulled off the Playstation store and what not, I just think maybe they could at very least mend some bridges with the PS crowd. If it comes out on Gamepass great, but I just think Gamepass is already full of Western Rpgs it will also be competing with, Outerworlds, Wasteland 3, Bethesda games, etc etc.

  3. They've publicly stated the next gen updates would be for free. If they lie about this and try to sell it they'd definitely have another lawsuit on their doorstep. Hopefully 2022 they get things finally sorted out on this fiasco.

  4. It's too early for Game Pass until they've released the paid DLCs. First the "soft relaunch" of patch 1.5 and the next-gen port. A few months further along we see the first paid DLC. 8-12 months after that we see the second paid DLC. At that point they've made most of the money they are likely to make, and they wrap the whole thing into a combined edition and list THAT on Game Pass, maybe 18 months from now. And then the hype starts for the second game.

  5. They have a jewel of a game in Cyberpunk though. I'm genuinely excited to see them improve it over time. And I disagree about Game pass. This is CDPR. Hell, even Ubisoft avoids Game Pass. I say let em do their own thing. Bethesda being on game pass makes sense.

  6. I thought CDPR would have to pay way more than that. I think they got off easy like. Which isn't a bad thing. Now to redeem themselfs with the next gen version of the game. I really enjoyed the game but clear to see it was rushed. It needed another 1 or 2 years in the oven tbh 😂. If you don't have the game, I would get it on sale at 15 quid so you don't have to pay the full price on the next gen version. Either way the game is well worth 15 quid 😂😂👍

  7. I bought the game at launch and still haven't played it, I'll wait until its at least in a decent state and then give it a try.

I'll never pre-order another game though after being stung by this one.

  8. Man, CDPR is such a mess. I just feel for the actual staff that worked so hard on the game. Im glad I never bought the game, and I will never do so. Gamepass sounds like the best route for them as you said Matty.

  9. To be fair Sony is partially responsible for the reduced sales numbers of cyberpunk 2077. They literally took it off their store. Cementing the notion that it was not just broken, but unfixable. Public perception is huge and can easily turn into a downward spiral. They may have lost the 15m sales on ps4 alone, specifically because Sony doesn't sell content in that state on their stores. Hindsight is always 2020 though isn't it.

  10. To be far, it's the pre-owned physical editions that are $10 at game pass.
The PC physical edition at gamestop is $35.97 at Game stop
The digital version on steam is $59.99
It seems clear stores are trying to get rid of physical editions, since it's been a year since release. They don't need so many copies around.

So, this seems like MrMattyPlays a little sensationalism? 🤔

  11. I still really want to play it but I’m gonna wait till the next gen enhancements also gamepass would make sense right now because there are still millions of people out there who will refuse to buy this game after all the controversy but will play it if it’s on gamepass and maybe even buy future dlc or future cd project red games

  12. It’s just sad. There’s so many good things about Cyberpunk that have been overshadowed. Still waiting for quality of life improvements and patch fixes to actually enjoy the game as much as we should be able to.
