Not going to lie i fired up cyberpunk a couple of days ago after years of not playing it and had a blast playing it
Exactly, the same happened to Outriders, great game after DLC and bug fixes.
Forget that Cyberpunk game…. what??? There's a game where I can love a dead grandma?!? Shut up and take my money!!
Cyberpunk had a rocky start but it's an excellent game. I remember when Stadia was the only way you could play it without issues.
Just wanna add. It's not just that the base game sold 30 million copies. The story expansion, Phantom Liberty, sold 8 million copies as well. Which is huge for an expansion, especially if you consider the fact that Phantom Liberty released during a very stacked time. It released right around the same time as Baldur's Gate 3 and Starfield, and if you were following Steam numbers at that time like I did, Cyberpunk 2077 with Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty was competing with BG3 in Steam numbers everyday and basically whittled Starfield's numbers.
Should Cyberpunk 2077 be GOTY? I think more people should have asked this question back in 2023 when Phantom Liberty launched. It wasn't that talked about much since Phantom Liberty is a DLC, but now that DLCs are allowed to be nominated as GOTY, I feel more and more that Phantom Liberty was robbed, at least from being nominated.
Btw if you dig deeper, you'll find out that Sony removing Cyberpunk 2077 from the Playstation store wasn't an arbitrary decision. It was a decision by both CDPR and Sony, as CDPR's refunds-no-questions-asked policy could have gone against Sony's policies on refund. Sony never cared about the consumers.
