Is it worth upgrading from the GTX 1060 to the RX 6600? Since the GTX 1060 is still the most widely used GPU and the RX 6600 is currently the cheapest GPU from the current generation, this seems like an interesting topic. In this video we test out Cyberpunk 2077 on both cards at 1080p and 1440p at all graphics presets, including a little bit of Ray Tracing on the RX 6600 at 1080p.

Yes.
Boot it up 300 fps
Chip will warm up
A GTX 1060 on Cyberpunk at 1080p low performs like a RX 6600 at 1080p with a mixure of Ultra & High settings according to the FPS. Quite a good uplift
6600 is an ok card, being outperformed by rdna1 is a little off tho
Add more colour by billion
Did you guys know this was one of the more demanding scenes, I sure didn't get it until he said it the 12th time xD
Dang the 6600 is not a bad performer at all!
You could lock the fps to 30 if you had to I guess and play it that way. I know 60 fps is preferable and it's my minimum I'm usually willing to play but if you didn't have much of a choice we've all played at 30fps at some point.
High prerset 1440p High + FSR = 60 nice!
At AU$699 this seems like a pretty good buy in Australia at the moment (although I see this has gone up to AU$729). With the current market this isn't too terrible. Luckily I already upgraded my 1060 to a 6700XT at a not too disgusting price. FSR gives some extra options as well…
Rx 6600 @ 1080p on high is the best setting in this case scenario. Good FPS and gameplay experience.
Were did you get the overlay for the stats? Is something you can turn on in the game settings, or a third party app?
Nice video. Keep up the good work. Your channel is growing and you look to be enjoying what you are doing! I have a 3090 but just like seeing how other pc setups run.
if i had 1440p and this gpu, would prob go medium, or 1080p ultra with high or medium shadow, or just high settings
you know that what you doin' make no sense? … you know that normally, people with e.g. a GTX 1060 should always set the Textures to Ultra and rest down … this is the rule of thumb: textures always up … and shadows, volumetric and other things at least 1 step down….
and this does not matter what game it is … that applys to all games…
So, I hope, that your viewers arent dumb and go for the "preselected settings" that game developers made or what you doing here …. Cause this got nothing to do with the real world for a gtx 1060 user with a brain inside.
And in this regard, it makes no sense of what you doing there with the GTX 1060. …. it would maybe make sense if you were "hardware unboxed", because you wanted to fill your graphs of graphics cards … but you arent…
so it would make more sense to "set optimized settings" for a gtx 1060 for your viewers …
but maybe thats only my opinion…
Panam's camp is the most demanding area i guess
How long do you get to keep the 6600? Since that card is 8x 4.0 you might get better fps if you put in a system that supports 4.0. I really enjoy your video’s btw.
looks like your mic has adapted to ReLive in recent months and now rejects GeForce
5:50 – it's all console-like and cinematic experience until you throw a grenade and enjoy a slideshow ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Cyberpunk is pretty CPU dependent. Would be interesting if there is any difference if you try the 5950X vs 8600K using both cards.
What about GTX 1660?
I'm so glad you got this card. I was also able to get this card and I'm upgrading from a 470. So excited
before i watch it 1060 has no chance!
my 5500xt 12% faster than 1060 so no way a 1060 can fight a 6600xt
1440p RT would have been interessting!
The 5700XT Smokes the 6600 @1440p. The stagnation is real!!!
You’ve been pumping out vids bro enjoying the content though, have you done any comparisons for new world would love to see it if you have the game?
I can't believe I am saying this but I am enjoying farcry 6s world more than a world created by cdpr. Most youtubers use cybperpunk as a graphics benchmark and everytime I see it I am reminded of how empty and dead the world is. :<
The RT in this game really just tanks the fps more than any game I've played. I have both AMD and Nvidia systems that can run this at 1440P high 60+ fps without RT but then you turn on RT and it's game over. The thing is, I think the non RT lighting looks great so I rather play with it off.
Imagine if 6600 was somehow reasonable to buy like $329…
We will have to wait for intel to show us what they got and for how much
this was my exact experience when upgrading from a GTX1070 to a 6600XT, basically got 200% the performance.
Nowadays I play it at 1440p starting out at ultra then lower parameters like
– cascade shadow resolution: medium
– screen space reflections: low (massive performance upgrade but still good reflections)
– dynamic clouds: off (heck, you hardly ever see them. no reason having that system running in the background, just pretend it's a sunny day)
– ambient occlusion: medium
– color precision: low
– dynamic resolution: 80%, 60fps target (helps out in hectic firefights in demanding scenes, but generally the game renders natively)
I get a 60-80fps experience. The game looks great, it looks like "Ultra" But you gain so much performance by lowering those parameters.
Cyberpunk 2077 is such a mess when it comes to optimization and stuff like that.
I was waiting for this one since you bought the 1060……
isnt this the same as a rx580?
why did amd release this?
For those with a motherboard that supports smart access memory, they may also get an uplift on the 6600. Games like RDR2 will have a much better minimum frame rate too.
100Watts GPU power consumption on the 6600 <3 That is fracking awesome.
If we increase the depth of field to max., will it put a huge impact on the fps?
Love the power consumption of these cards.
