In this video we will be taking a look at Cyberpunk 2077, and benchmarking not only the game, but also how much does an older processor bottleneck a brand new RTX 3080 running a brand new, next-gen game! Testing at 4K, and 1080p.

  1. I hope you guys enjoy the video! I tried to make it as spoiler free as I could for you guys! Also, I apologize for this video only being in 1080p, shadowplay just would not record in 4K even though I was playing in 4K. <3 Also, for those of you who want to see 1440p results, I made a separate video for you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grABBhTC0Lw

    Now with timestamps! 😀

  2. 5:41 thats because you are hitting the cpu bottleneck in this game. Its very cpu intensive.

If you had a more powerful cpu then you'd see the frame jump by double just like in cold war, remember a system is only ever as powerful as its weakest component.

  3. Hi Mr Jay. IMO I think you've perhaps missed something on this particular video. This test is with an old gen CPU, so why would you not leverage DLSS all the time?? It offers big performance wins with negligable hit in quality. This is a key advtage of RTX over Ryzen GPU right now and a very important point to trying to coax decent graphics at a decent FPS for a sub optimal CPU?

  4. so I have the 6700k with a rog strix 2080ti and the fps is good at times but that fucking frame time gets me. go from like 70fps to 25 fps out of nowhere. getting a i9 10900k and 64gb ram this week. so hopefully it helps lol

  5. Hi I have a 6600k with a motherboard h170m that supports dd3 (32gb) and 1060 6gb. In medium at 1080 i do 45 fps Avg.
In your opinion it is appropriate to switch to a 6700k or a 7700k for 200euro? (There's much different between 6700k and 7700k?)
    and change the 1060 to a 1070ti?

    No need 4k.

  6. I just got a RTX 3090 today and was afraid my 7700k would hold it back much. Your video offered comfort before the card came, thanks for that 🙂

I have everything on max @1440p with DLSS on quality, only lowered crowd density to low so my CPU doesnt reach 100% load. With full crowd density it got to 100% sometimes which led to stutters.
Plus, I turned off motion blur, depth of field, film grain, lens flare and chromatic abberation. Having mostly above 60 FPS, in the city dropping sometimes into the 40s for short periods of time

  7. I don' t think your 6700k is even boosting properly since it is showing 4,1 GHz instead of the 4,2 GHz turbo.
Would be interesting to see how much of an uplift you would get from the standard 4,5 GHz OC and enabling XMP with 3000+ MHz RAM

  8. Hi,I have i7 6800k cpu overclocked to 4.2ghz,what gpu you would reccomend,I could get cheap i7-6950X as well but not sure what gpu would fit those cpu`s,I find some forums wher reccomend max rth-2080 super and some forums rtx-3080,what gpu you would reccomend? Tnak you

  9. I have an i5-6400 and a rx 6650xt. The only time I really lose frames is in the city when there i traffic or pedestrians. If there is not a lot going on it isn't bad but when it is trying to load more than 4 or 5 people and a few cars at once (specially if I am driving) my fps tanks into the high 30s. Which its still playable. The i7 seems to handle it better than the i5. There is a deal going on at Micro Center right now where you can get an i7 11th gen and a free mother board for $269. That is what I am planning on doing to upgrade my PC.

  10. My hard drive used to have HORRIBLE pop-in. It got so bad that I would fall through the world if I drove too fast. I bought a $25 dollar SSD from Micro Center and it runs like a dream when it comes to loading.

  11. its pulling way more than u might expect, it hits a certain cap, since i am using rtx 3070 and i also get the same fps as you with i7 6700k with the same settings

  12. How are other games performing with this combo of CPU and GFX?

I have 3080 coming and I wonder should I upgrade [email protected] to something newer like 13900k and be done with for another 6 years or so. Or maybe to milk my 6700k for another 2-3 years 😀

  13. You can't just go by the usage %. You can have 99% gpu usage and low cpu usage % and still have your cpu bottlenecking your GPU. There are so many other factors.

I personally don't believe in upgrading CPUs until they are too slow for your GPU. In this case the 6700k is absolutely too slow for the 3080 and a CPU upgrade would give you better performance.
