CD Projekt Red says that it will reveal “what’s next” for Cyberpunk 2077 in a livestream next week. Alongside its game, the company will also share some new information on the Cyberpunk Edgerunners series coming to Netflix soon that had a very NSFW trailer recently.

This new Night City episode will be streamed at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET on September 6, but while we wait for that, let’s go over the story details for the upcoming expansion that appeared to have leaked online back in May 2022.

According to VGC, which saw the leaked files and first reported on them, hundreds of lines of dialogue spelling out most of the events and characters of the expansion have appeared online. The dialogue points to a character named Songbird, who was datamined in Cyberpunk 2077, being the focus of the DLC. The expansion will reportedly take players to the Combat Zone and Sports Dome, which were both previously inaccessible spots across Cyberpunk 2077’s setting Night City.

While the side missions seem to mostly contain placeholder text, enough of the dialogue throughout shows that Johnny Silverhand, an AI of a rockstar played by Keanu Reeves, may have a more diminished presence in the expansion, though it’s unknown exactly why that may be the case. That may come as a disappointment and shocker to many fans of Cyberpunk 2077, since Reeves’ involvement was a major selling point for the game and a significant part of the title’s marketing efforts once it re-emerged in 2019.

  1. For me to decide to replay Crappunk 77 I need a few key things. First is flying cars and explorable city VERTICALLY. 2nd is that every meaningful and strong weapon, car, item etc to be locked behind BOSSES in mission, side missions, secrets, puzzles etc…not just laying on the ground or in a box. 3rd is REAL consequences on my choices…but this will be hard to implement since they'll need new audio from Keanu and the others so I may skip this. 4th is WORKING police like in GTA (wow what a surprise). New and meaningful mechanics, like they showed at E3 that you can run on the wall and hang on the wall using your mantis blades, like an assassin. That's just on the top oh my head.
For a game that advertised itself as "the next generation of OPEN WORLD adventure. Immerse yourself in CP2077" they did a very poor job and both being the next generation of open world AND immerse myself. How immersive is it when your "RPG" has most of it's TOP items scattered ON THE GROUND or in box somewhere. In every decent RPG you have to EARN the best items, not just…find them on the ground. Decent RPG's have many AND hard bosses. How immersive is it when the police teleports behind your back, is this GTA 3 from 20 years ago?!?! I'll just stop because this will turn into another 10k symbols essay.

  2. I didn't play a second of this game until the latest next-gen patch. And I gotta say, it's pretty good. Sure it has a lot of flaws. But I was super impressed by the story. Some of the best and most consistent writing I've experienced in a AAA game in a long long time.

  3. Why are you making rumour videos for a game which stole hundreds of millions of dollars from customers because of its lies. Wait for actual releases, then update us.

  4. I held off on CP 2077 until the official next gen upgrade. I’m glad I did. I played that game for all it was worth. I made sure I played every possible side mission before I played that last mission. Riding off into the sunset with Panem made me smile. I only played the corpo life path but I want to make a totally new character and try the other paths. When any expansion comes out, I will be there.

  5. New DLC and alter endings are surely nice, but I hope they will add the ability to dual wield pistols/revolvers. I mean, it's a sci-fi dystopia and why Jackie can dual wielding but the player can't?

  6. I got this game for $ 30 in my opinion it's worth it, but finished, it doesn't make sense to replay it, the openworld is ridiculous and the gunplay as well, if I will play it again it's only if it will be an expansion detached from that city, something similar to blood and wine , no to go back and forth in the same city
