Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds – MUCH Higher than Initial Reports (VL452)

The release of Cyberpunk 2077 by CD Projekt Red (and its parent company CD Projekt) has been the kind of slow moving car accident that many cannot look away from.

So when the company announced that despite all the controversy only 30,000 gamers had asked for refunds through it’s “Help Me Refund” Program, curious minds might wonder if that’s the whole story.

But while many outlets reported things like “CD Projekt Refunded Only 30,000 Copies Of Cyberpunk 2077” (Kotaku), the financial statements actually delivered gave a much different picture.

Technically correct may be the best kind of correct, but it’s not the most informative…in Virtual Legality.

  1. This is actually the first thing I think of, CDPR refund 30k, my first thought was, "wait people didn't ask refunds directly from CDPR"
And as I research, I found this video. Thank you!

  2. Another thing that I feel that's gonna make analyzing refund figures absolute hell is that a LOT of people refunded their digital copy to get a 50% off physical at retails. I've seen more than one friend do it, hell I almost considered doing it myself. lol

  3. They lied. Plain and simple. Lying by omission. And these "news" sites are inbred garbage where one idiot gets it wrong and then the rest copy that, the definition of blind leading the blind. But the real culprit is cdpr for once again being corporate scum.

  4. Contrary to popular belief, lying is not illegal.
Only when it is done under specific conditions (i.e. perjury) or in a specific way (i.e. libel) then it is illegal.
I am sure there are many more definitions of when a lie is illegal.
