Cyberpunk 2077 – Real police pursuit, pursuit AI exists

The last video (https://youtu.be/4P-p8BQADIw) shows some of the tests I did with these police to see their behavior. I realized they might’ve actually been trying to pursue me at one point, and, lo and behold, there actually is vehicle AI that can chase you buried in Cyberpunk 2077. Hopefully it actually gets used to improve police.

  1. UPDATE: I went back to this spot later and the same police respawned. I made a longer video showing more of how these police react to being attacked by me on foot while they're in their car – https://youtu.be/Goi3hwaLf60

This is the location of the event the police drove away from, there is also a legendary revolver there. https://ibb.co/S71Y1f9

Edit: It seems like a lot of people are only watching the first few seconds, which isn't a great representation of how the cops always pursue. I was driving on the sidewalk and over light poles, which seems to mess with their pathfinding more than usual. The point of this video was basically just to show that the programming exists but isn't really finished.

This guy found the same spot, and his video better shows how the police pursue, although they obviously still need some work: https://www.reddit.com/r/LowSodiumCyberpunk/comments/kjfpkl/police_ai_is_in_the_game_doesnt_work_properly_but/
He also aggroed the police by attacking them from a distance and then driving away, instead of committing a crime in front of them like I did. This seems to make their pursuit range longer. I think my method limited them to the same range the other police use when responding to a crime, where if you drive down the street a bit you lose your wanted level.

  2. Higher chance of this being a bug, as we all know how terrible to non-existent the A.I. in this game is. Also, the game has 0 driving A.I. just simple pathfinding from point A to point B that works only on the roads.

  3. I've also found there are drive by's. never happened before but this one time I exited the afterlife and when I reached the street 2 vehicles full of tygerclaw passed by and started shooting. I think these are just very unpolished mechanics they had to leave in this horrible stage of development so they could focus more on performance.

  4. Should be:
    – Different police car model
    – 3 or 4 officer at max wanted level in each car
    – Police car start spawn at 2 star wanted level
    – Increase view when driving, once back to foot, normal view

  5. Where TF did the 8 years of Dev time go exactly?? Ppl were so excited for this game, some even threatened to kill the Dev team if it wasn't released when they kept saying it would be..
Doesn't get much more hyped then that… But (fart sound) we got dry f*** instead.. Not even ONE unscripted car chase..
Lol, GTA 5 took 5 years and today it remains the best selling game in history… Pretty f*** pathetic when ya think about it…
