  2. Raytrace are scamm and gimmick and basically game developers downgrade games because of that fake shit from Nvidia cards even they can made game same or better realistic with todays tech and unreal engine 4 without using any raytrace shit just like they do with Alien Isolation and gettting movie realistic game in 2014

  3. They did a really good job with the lighting effects (rtx off). I have a 3070 and play with rtx on. However if i knew how similar the experience would be, i would have probably sticked to my 1070 for sometime longer. The trailers and images by nvidia were advertised as if raytracing is a must.. and i fell for it

  4. I set raytracing on and to psycho settings just to see what it would look like, but the game instantly crashed. Now when I try to boot it back up, it instantly crashes before it even gets to the opening menu.

  5. IMO Raytracing is a mixed bag. There are certain scenes where it adds depth and realism. Then there are other scenes where it appears to crush detail and make the image blurrier.

  6. I have played this game with rtx on and as someone who takes thousands of in game screenshots, the only thing I like about rtx in this game is the reflections. Everything else Is barely even noticeable when you are running and gunning or even driving around the city. Save your frames!

  7. Ray tracing is pretty dumb. I spent so much time trying to see big differences between on and off when I was fiddling with the ray tracing settings. It just drops FPS for absolutely minuscule differences

  9. To be honest, it doesn't seem to make all that much of a difference in quality, really.

This is not just sour-grapes-talk. I have an RTX 3080. This is "I'm disappointed" talk. The card is great for its speed (I can play almost any game at full 4k with really decent framerates), but I would really want to take advantage of the RTX part too. All of the (few) RTX games that exist have been a disappointment in the visuals department (compared to RTX being turned off), with the exception of Control, which uses RTX quite effectively (perhaps not as effectively as it could, but much better than pretty much any other game).

I was looking forward to this game mainly because of its RTX support, but seeing its mediocre reviews as well as the almost nil improvement RTX makes to the visuals, I'm not so sure anymore.
