Cyberpunk 2077 – Pure Ambivalence (Review)

it’s finally here, my thoughts on what was meant to be one of the biggest games of 2020 – when it eventually came out, anyway. Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that tries to do a lot but is so incredibly inconsistent while you’re playing it, and after spending about 35 hours in it’s world, i’m almost not sure how i feel about it…

  1. The borrowed time was the worst part, kind of the same with the Witcher 3 "the story requires urgency" so to feel immersed I "hurry" (do main quest) until I point the story would calm down to do side quest, before I knew it I was 3/4 of the game down and I was like "oh… So everything is about the stupid chip, not burning the city down or reaching the top"

  2. You definitely should play the witcher series. Honestly I see lots of Witcher 3 in Cyberpunk. same busted console port, same glorious animation, same buggy start but if the witcher is an indication then they'll patch it out. it feels like they extra larged the Witcher 3, took all the good and bad of Witcher 3 release and made is more extreme.

  3. Am I the only one to not just look forward to cambat in video games, when I first played cyberpunk 2077 I was looking forward to a more New vegas type experience, exploring the world and different people through small quest lines, influencing people with my charismatic character instead of just shoot shoot bang bang

  4. I don't think it's the audience's fault for getting overhyped, it's CDPR's fault for hyping it up to that degree. If they played more low-key with the game until it was a finished product instead of cock teasing us with teasers and trailers for years, the outrage would've been much lower.

  5. I know I'll be in the minority for this, but while I am enjoying Witcher 3 it killed any hype I had for Cyberpunk 2077 early on. I have a ton of gripes with Witcher 3, but the hours played don't lie…
