I wanted to put this game on EPIC category. But here are the reasons why I am not going to…
1 – Over promise and under delivery
Company who built its reputation with The Witcher Series. Built huge fanbase over the years.
I believe they didn’t even need any advertising for this game to have huge sales. But I guess greed kicked in. We were all bombarded with heavy marketing campaign. It created the big hype and promise. End result was an obvious disappointment. Maybe a good lesson for all developers.
2- Releasing a game that wasn’t ready to be released.
Even after 18 months past, so many patches were released to fix the bugs and technical problems Updates and huge patches expected to continue.
Overall, the game is fun. Campaign was good but not great as I hoped it would be. Side quests, character building, tons of details exist in the game world. Again, this was a game that could have been legendary. But end up at RARE category. We will see if CD PROJECT will follow Activision’s footsteps and develop its next game with the GREED in their mind or with the passion they had when they were developing the legendary Witcher series. Time will tell..
