1. Hey Chooms! Not sure if you noticed, but I haven't been interacting much lately. There was a reason—I had a fever and decided to take a few days off to rest. But now I'm 98% cured!

2. +/ Night City Stories +/ Chapter 38 – The Reset

   A mellow cadence of Synthwave fills the room much like the smoke from Audrey and Brian's cigarettes. Netty The Kid sat on the couch watches Brian pace back and forth occassionally glancing out of one of the apartment windows. He waves his hand over his face in discomfort at the excessive cigarette smoke.

   "If what you're sayin' is true then we shouldn't have much of a problem." Brian proclaims.

   "Yeah. Its a good plan" Audrey agrees.

   "The only problem we got is his huscle.. Hes gotta have beefed it up by now." Netty says.

   "Since he's on the outs with his corp his funds can't be too healthy.. huscle shouldn't be too much of a problem…The location change works to our advantage. Isolated..away from prying eyes." Says Brian. He continues. "We're only gonna have one shot at this. I'm gonna take the kid with me." Netty looks over at Brian in surprise. Brian glances over at Audrey with a serious expression. "Watch her. Holo buzz me when she comes too." Audrey nods in agreement. Brian gets up and grabs his iron off of the coffee table and racks the slide. "Wait. We're going now..?" The kid asks nervous. "No better time than the now. Let's go kid." Brian says as he turns to walk toward the front door.. the kid quickly gets up and follows.

   Brian and Netty are next seen driving in Watson. The hour is late as the sun has already set giving way to the now blooming neon light of the city. Brian lights a smoke as Netty stares out the passenger side window as he hears a man's voice from his past come into focus: "You don't want this life son. But I understand that I don't control what you want. If you're gonna follow in my footsteps-" "You're gonna learn." Netty says to himself under his breath making Brian glance over at him but say nothing. Brian picks up on the kids energy before breaking the silence.

   " So… 'Netty The kid' huh. tch..you runners are somethin' else with your handles."

   "Name's Netaniel. Choom of mine took to callin' me Netty when we were still in the sandbox. stuck n' evolved from there."

   "Where you from kid." Brian responds.

   "Watson.. but my family moved all over the city.. was in Heywood for a while..then Kabuki.. we even had a small place on Jig Jig street for a little while."

   "At your age I was more concerned wit chasin' tail. What're you doin involved in shit like this..? Goin' after a corpo is never a good idea."

   "Cmon' choom you now how it goes in this city-"

   "Nothins free, nothins fair." The pair of them say at the exact same time sharing an instinctual chuckle from the both of them.

   "Havin' a rep in this town can prove to be more of a problem than an asset. 'specially these days." Brian says

   "Yeah… no kiddin'.. that's why i keep things encrypted…stay out of the spotlight..Honestly didn't know what was gonna happen after your friend made me…its never happened before."

   "A tat with your calling card on your neck says otherwise kid.."

   "Tch..yeah.. Good luck to anyone trying to get close enough to see it." The kid says in a serious tone causing Brian to look over at him impressed.

   "And your cyberdeck..? That's impressive stuff you were able to do back there. Made it look effortless. Who'd you klep that from."

   A pause takes place as the idle sounds of the streets take over briefly as the pair drive by a crowded Jacked and Coke.

   "It was my father's."

   Brian looks over at the kid now staring back out of the window and says nothing as rain begins to patter on the windows of the Galena G240.

   Audrey Back at the hideout is seen on the fire escape railing having a smoke and listening to the growing pattering of rain coming down. She glances down at the caved in railing Zaunya slammed her fist into and takes a deep breath before taking another drag. She looks back into the apartment before she receives a call on the holo, causing her eyes to glow orange.

   "Audrey.. its Bear.. I was just over near your shop and saw badges snooping around."

   "What?"

   "Didn't think much of it till I saw a corpo Chivill roll up next to the squad car."

   Audrey flicks her smoke out into the rain and quickly walks back into the apartment.

   "Scan them for me." Audrey says as she quickly begins to put her jacket and gear on. "I'm on my way..meet me at our spot." "Roger roger." BugBear says before ending the call.

   Audrey grabs her iron before walking back to the room Zaunya is passed out in and stands over her. She gently places the palm of her hand on her shoulder before closing her eyes. She opens them with a serious look on her face before turning and leaving the apartment..sliding the door closed..cutting to black.
