I mean it makes sense with Morgan. Guy like that who's been at this for a while, got as little cyberware as he does, who's squared off with Smasher, and has a reputation for taking his targets in alive?
Yeah, makes sense he'd be a good tactical commander. It makes no sense for someone like Smasher, who was so batshit insane than he wanted to cause collateral damage for funsies. Dude's liable to blow up his own guys with those missiles of his if he wants to make a car go boom and see some pretty lights.

Interesting fact is that Morgan never considered Smasher his rival. Smasher constantly challenged Morgan to duel him but was ignored every time. This is because Morgan was dealing with his actual nemesis a cyberninja Arasaka solo called Kenichi Zaburo who is the only character in cyberpunk lore to fight Morgan to a draw.
Morgan Black hand is Mike's O.C. literally.

Is Blackhand even alive anymore by Vs time? I mean, he'd be over 100 by now, according to the wiki pages. That's probably another reason Pondsmith wants to keep him out of 2077; a prequel series telling Blackhand's story and ultimate fate would probably do good as an anime
