  1. in the original 80's pen and paper version of Cyberpunk, you could play with 7 different classes and in these Johnny flashbacks you can meet most of the default characters for each class, Johnny as rockerboy, Rogue as fixer, Santiago as Solo, Thompson as media and you saw glimpse of Spider Murphy in the first flashback, the default netrunner.

  2. All I'm going to say about these flashbacks is that if they contradict the fluff from the tabletop game, that's intentional. Because it's how Johnny remembers it and he's a narcissist, so of course he's convinced himself that it was always all about him.

Alt, incidentally, is voiced by Alix Wilton Regan who was amongst others Goal in Deponia and the Dark Elf Dreadlord in Total Warhammer 2 & 3.

  3. @Jesika: you are quite correct about Johnny. In the tabletop game, he is, at least in combat, one of the weakest named characters. But that is the whole point: one doesn't need to be a borged up solo like Smasher to punch above their weight class, and try to make a difference.

Other thing: Johnny is a cyberpsycho even in the flashbacks. Just he is not the usual mindless killing machine, he is able to function as a member of society to an extent. But he is super narcissistic, delusional, and has a messiah complex.

  4. Weird…I don't remember a lot of this convo [Alt's kidnapping, the convo with the ripperdoc] Johnny's Malorian pistol works a lot better in his memory than in real life. I've always wondered what happened to the second nuke Johnny had. TBH I always thought than one possible ending for the game would be V and Johnny nuking Arasaka tower again.
