As promised, the investor relations financial call went down and we received plenty of news on the future of CD Projekt Red. Specifically, the expansion which has been pushed all the way out of 2022 into 2023. While understandable, a single player game taking 2.5 years to get its first substantial piece of content is a bad look and CDPR knows this. Taking one look at the direction of their teams, Cyberpunk 2077 is officially on the back burner. Plenty more to sink into with this massive news, so let’s dig in.

  1. Videos like this are why I unsubscribed from many channels since the Cyberpunk 2077 release. In one of the worst betrayals I have seen in 40 years as a gamer, Seedy PR effectively shit in our mouths and pissed in our faces, yet the content shills are still licking the corpo boot a year later. What we should be getting is a meticulous breakdown of all the lies that spanned years, a thorough breakdown of all the personnel changes since Witcher 3, and a comprehensive list of all the stripped content that was promised. What we actually get is OMFG BIG CYBERPUNK NEWS SO COOL BIG COMEBACK SO AWESOME GIVE THEM MORE OF UR MONEY!111 This, boys and girls, is why modern gaming is the unmitigated shit show that it is.

  2. I bought CP77 a week or 2 after it launched, finished it 1 time corpo run, didn't have any game breaking bugs so I loved it but I only have a 3070 so can run it in 1440p, I'll just wait till I get a better GPU to run it at 4k ultra so I got no problem waiting for the DLC, got plenty of other games to play meanwhile. Got the Witcher 3 Installed, playing Mass effect legendary now, Witcher will probably be next, played it at 1080p at the time will be nice to play in 4k this time.

  3. The Witcher 3 is being taken away from Saber because it was being handled by their Russian studios. CDPR did the right thing by taking it in-house. All the man/women babies on Twitter can throw their toys out the pram as much as they want, as Jagger sang “you can’t always get what you want.”

  4. The important thing about The Witcher next gen delay is that Saber Interactive has a brunch in Russia and CDPR (just like most of the comapnies in the world) are cutting of from dealing with any russian buisnesses because of the war they started in Ukraine.

  5. I was one of those preoders. I played and enjoyed the game even on my Xbone. The bugs weren't much worse than a regular Bethesda game to me.

But to be honest, I'm feeling a little let down and betrayed with all these delays and lack of dev support. Part of why I kept my $60 copy instead of returning and waiting for the price drop was that I had faith in CDPR. Surely the company that gave us so much for TW3 would deliver on their promises, right?

I was waiting to replay once there was some dlc but who knows now…

  6. i will NEVER buy The Witcher 4 due to the disrespect to players and supporters of CP 2077… i will NEVER trust this company again; they tainted my ability to ever respect them or believe in them as a company and as developers, they don't deserve to just move on and wipe their hands clean and say "whelp, people love Witcher… lets go back to that!", it sounds awful but i truly hope the lawsuits and angry fans crush the company entirely, they're thieves and completely dishonorable.

  7. I'm sad that it's going to take 2 years to release more content for the game, but i understand that they have to delay it to release something good. All that said, i'm afraid they are going to shoot them selfes in the foot again, i mean their patches have been super slow and not that great…

  8. I can’t believe they are investing the same amount of resources to Cyberpunk like to Gwent. I mean think about that. They are basically saying "fuck our second main IP, we are making more money with the Witcher". I don’t even know if the new Witcher will be as well received as the previous one, just because we will not play Geralt

  9. That is disappointing. I revisited it with the latest patch, but there's clearly no rush now. I guess I'll put it down again until we get closer to the new content releasing. I played it at launch too and was disappointed. A good concept, but someone got way too ambitious. I do wish they weren't allocating resources to a next gen Witcher 3. It isn't needed and are people really going to buy that game for a third time?

  10. Lol. 2023? I could be dead by then. I understand since they fucked us all with that initial release. Im still only halfway through my FIRST playthrough that I quit because of the state the game was in. It looks better than it was a year ago at least. This level of support is unacceptable compared to other companies that released unplayable garbage. They just continue to ruin their reputation as a company. I hope someone buys them to force a change in direction of the company.

  11. Since cyberpunk I don’t have any hype for upcoming games. Didn’t hype for elden ring, lost all hype for ES6. Cyberpunk semi killed games for me. Luckily, elden ring has been amazing.

  12. That chart is such nonsense 😂 according to the chart they had significant resources working on a cyberpunk expansion in 2020 (a time when I’m pretty sure everybody should have been working on fixing cyberpunk) yet apparently this expansion can’t release till 2023? That makes no sense whatsoever – I’d be willing to bet they’ve done almost no work on cyberpunk expansions yet

  13. They could design an entire game inside one of the unused mega-buildings, so I really hope they don't try making "Somewhere" new. Night City is the best character in the game and has potential to host so many more stories. Imagine designing a video game that takes place exclusively inside one of the mega-buildings.

  14. …are we still talking about this game? It’s a failure, it died at launch and honestly, i’m really worried about the mental health of people who still play it much more find it FUN. It is nothing, not even the distorted reflection of candle light when compared to the sun. It was hyped, by both CD and Mike Pondsmith (the creator of Cyberpunk) to no end; we were promised one of the most nuanced, and immersive RPGs yet….and what we got was a 3 rail line, buggy af, surface level fps lmfao yea, this game still isn’t even a percentage of a fraction of what they promised at launch, and i doubt it ever will be. (When the Outerworlds is just, superior in nearly everyway as an RPG, there’s an issue there)

  15. If CDPR will just abandon this game (what I already predicted) I will never look at any CDPR game again, simple. Never was a Witcher fan either, too much of a Skyrim clone off the many out there to begin with trying to be like Skyrim so nothing new.

  16. All you gwent fans have now persuaded CDPR to put valuable time into not finishing and making cyberpunk great and polished, but getting tour own ruddy gwent!! Games!! Unbelievable! Thanks! 😑

  17. I think they are making another massive mistake putting cyberpunk off like that.

I'm one of the people that literally just got cyberpunk, I just bought it like 2 weeks ago… And I love it. I'm rarely able to get new games when they come out. I make exceptions for certain things that I know ill most likely love like I remember having every fallout since 3 on the release with the special editions(except for 76).

My problem is I am really enjoying this world and it feels like something that really could be something more… And it has a brilliant story. But the story also feels like it needed more options, more paths, more relationships, more replay viability because though I couldn't put it down during that first playthrough the second and normally my favorite playthrough of any game is feeling kinda dull and I think its because I'm basically walking the same path besides the origin opening with no real option to branch out. Sure I can chose my style of action that I play, handguns, katanas whatever but the path has few branching options other than ones that hinder success. Even the endings are all kinda the same with maybe 2 true options.

And waiting for next year for this big content expansion will end up hurting it even more because we all know starfield is out in november and us role playing game lovers will mostly be wanting a bite of that action. If any of Bethesdas past games or current vids tell us anything its that we will become absorbed in it with 100-200 hours being just the tip of a very replayable iceberg.

As much as i really like cyberpunk and think my god they really had something here it feels like they are running scared and are distancing themselves and if they ever actually follow up on these long distance promises now it'll be a miracle, and they are about to make their second huge mistake with this game, one that coulda maybe been a no mans sky level of redemption… But got a feeling its gonna be a story eventually buried thanks to them.

And its sad to me cause though I loved the story of the witcher.3 in just not ad interested on that world or the completely fleshed out characters that I am given little creativity in creating as I am in what cyberpunk coulda offered or what Bethesda commonly gives.

Its sad to me but I get the feeling this cyberpunk game in just now really enjoying I have a feeling will be left drug out too far for me to keep up with.

  18. I have gotten to the point where I now wait until the complete 'anniversary' editions is on sale on STEAM. Complete games are worth waiting for, or they are not worth playing at all. You know for sure after the work has completely stopped on it.

  19. It baffles me why people are still holding onto this game, especially gamers who were expecting an RPG. This game will NEVER be good regardless of how many updates and/or expansions it gets, because it is a broken game at a fundamental level. The very core of this game is not what was promised. You can't fix this with updates.

    Move on already.

  20. The bugs in cyberpunk really took attention away from how immense and truelly incredible most parts of the story and conversations in this game are, some interactions and even the romance scenes and conversations with Judy for example was so well done.

  21. Man, I love CyberPunk and really though it was going to get the same Witcher 3 treatment. I guess not 🙁 the best thing they could have done is make the game Next Gen only as soon as they saw it was a pain in the ass on PS4 and Xbox One and go from there.

  22. I'm one of those pre-orders and enjoyed the game on my Xbox one X at the time. But I am not sure I will still be into this game in 2023, unless it is an exceptional change. I will have moved on to newer games.

  23. I just started playing cyberpunk on ps5. It has some awful balancing issues and I have been consistently getting frame drops down to ~1fps or just completely freezing at random, and occasional crashes. I keep playing because I really enjoy the story and the visuals but.. the game is still broken.
