I was so fucking confused when witnessing this, I still don't get it how it make sense from story point of view, how he gets caught-fade to black then runs outta the door and gets caught again on the helipad. I din't finish the game, maybe they elaborate on this later on.
This game really shows you that terrorists think that they are right while they are fighting for their cause and vision. Honestly I was all for it Johny: "Let's fuck up Arasaka!" Me: Yeah!
The lore behind this game is insane like how does a rockstar get a nuke, then the part about the Gang of Four (nsa, fbi, dea, cia) having a city wide war with police in Washington D.C. resisting arrest and treason
– how did Johnny get way from Smasher the first time, after being knocked down – how did Johnny get from the top of the tower to being evacuated through the bottom
It's kinda terrifying isn't it? How quickly we got on board with blowing up the "evil multinational" in this game? How easily we justify Johnny's actions because Arasaka were bad and oppressive?
Makes you realise how easy radicalisation must be in real life. We only saw part of Johnny's journey, but we still got swept up in it and were all-in.
Was he right? Arasaka certainly do seem evil from his and V's perspective. But then you hear someone like Goro talk about how they brought peace and stability, gave him an education and food and a purpose, and you begin to wonder…is he brainwashed…or am I?
It made me think about the Middle East. The US must seem evil from the perspective of the people in the Taliban. They came in, overthrew their government, and spent 20 years eroding their way of life and chasing them into the mountains. Yet, there are women who went to school and college for the first time because of the US intervention. The economy and standard of living improved.
Are good and evil set in stone, or just a matter of perspective?
The reason I love Cyberpunk isn't because of the loveable characters and compelling story, it's because it forced me to contemplate tough, important questions. It made me stop and think.
dat aim holy

They made Saburo Arasaka younger in the 1.5 update during the nuke scene.
