  1. This scene gave me mixed feelings. Not sure how else to describe it. Jackie was a well-written character for sure. Like I've said before, too bad we didn't get too much screen time with him. Thanks Slow Walkthroughs for the video.

  2. During the time V had to speak in front of everyone I was actually trying hard to not mess up as if I was really in front of a live audience. Gonna miss Jackie something awful…..

  3. I think Cyberpunk is one of the rarest games which tries to speak about the topic of death. We can argue for ages about literally anything, but the one thing we know for real – that someday everyone dies. Nobody can learn how to deal with death of close ones, no matter how tough you're. Even people on war facing it everyday and watching how their companions in arms dies one by one, or people who buried too much of their loved ones, who emotionally totally burn out and subconsciously trying to distance from it – even such kind of people fail at dealing with it, as they "close" themselves because they can't handle it anymore in emotional way. And dying is always frightening as realizing there's only void ahead. There're probably a few exceptions in the sort of people who lost everything and nothing holds them back on this side of the grave.
This game tries comprehend it all not only by the example of Johhny Silverhand ,who lost everything, or V ,who desperately tries to fight for his life, which slowly fades away, but also showing what's left after people're gone. Ofrenda quest is unique in this way, as it shows what others feels, when someone dies – people come here to say their last goodbye to person, which is alive no more, as they didn't have a chance to say it personally. May be to release some words which they've always wanted to say, but never dared until it's too late. To speak a bit about their relationships with that person, let him be alive a little longer in your memories.
That very chance which Johnny was speaking about on the roof before final decision, as he didn't have opportunity to make his final call.
I think there's some evil irony that Keanu Reeves played the role of Johnny Silverhand. Once Keanu was on Stephen Colbert show, and during chaotic quiz for the last question was asked what would happen after we die. As the person who lost his best friend, baby daughter and girlfriend he answered, "I know that the ones who love us will miss us".
    And this is truth.
Johnny lost Alt, and was slowly losing his relationships with people who surronded him. Yet, 50 years after his death, despite how controversial person he was, Kerry and Rogue still miss him, and attached to him deep inside, as they probably failed to find replacement for such man.
We see all the time how V misses Jackie, we witnessed how Panam lamented about Scorpion's death, though we even didn't know that man, but V and Panam understand each other feelings, as both them lost good friends.
The other thing which makes it all heavier for characters that they lost their friends partially because of their own fault: may be Alt would have not taken, if Johhny weren't so critical to Arasaka or, at least, wasn't rushing to rescue her, which forced Arasaka act faster, as the result she was killed during the moment Johnny disconnected her from Soulkiller; V failed to get out his friend alive from their first major gig, which ruined their lives forever, though if he could see it coming he probably could've dropped it in time and safe 2 lives; Panam shooting AV caused death of some nomads, including Scorpion or final run to Mikoshi, during which Saul was killed with some other guys.
These deaths would lay like heavy burden to characters for a long time, may be – forever.
So when Johhny said his cynical as hell line," Kinda tough deciding which one of your friends is gonna have to die. Lucky for you, you’ve got this choom who’s already dead", he was absolutely right, as losing close friends or just good folks by your fault, even indirect, will mark on you forever, and Johnny probably knew it by experience, as back those times when he was going to last ride to Arasaka, he got nothing left in his mind, ready to die in suicide run, though probably he was a bit wrong, as he still got some folks for whom he was important, though they tried didn't it show.

But also death can unite people. As Mama Welles started get on with Misty, after Jackie's ofrenda, and ended up calling her pretty often, speaking for a few hours straight. Or Johnny and V, though their relationships were complicated and Silverhand died long ago, yet in his afterlife he realized what life he's lived thanks to V's efforts, which helped Johnny completely accept his destiny and refuse from his idea of taking V body and instead of it going into AI oblivion.

Death is a part of our lives and end of it. When the game tries to speak about it in a serious way- it's already unusual thing. But even more extraordinary is that Cyberpunk shows different perspectives on death – from the point of view who's slowly dying and struggling for life; who witnessed the death of close friend or even the sight from person's afterlife, with retrospective on his own life and this world, and gives not the answers, as probably there're no proper answers to such topic, but demonstrates how you can attitude to this inevitable phenomenon of human's life.

  5. This quest will stay in my mind for a long time… The speech of V and all the others or shortly before that, the conversation with Misty about Jackie and then after the ofrenda when Misty and Mama Welles started to get along well. All these quiet and less action oriented moments like Kerry and V on the boat, talking to Judy on the balcony, sitting with Panam and the Aldecaldos at the campfire or sitting at Johnny, s grave and many more are moments that really set the game apart from other games. No other game or show had that effect on me besides RDR2 and Breaking Bad. Man… you really start to miss all those spectacularly written charackters.

ps: Really love your vids. I listen to CP playlist all the time while studying.

  6. So glad to see your new mix <3 Love the guitars in cp 2077, and this one is just perfect for the mood of the whole Hero quest. We are ever so powerless in the face of death, literal or metaphorical, but I’d like to think the moment we accept that as part of a natural process is the moment for realization of our true potentials. Really like how cdpr explores heavy topics like mental health, death etc., i wish every player has some takeaways from this game they can apply to in life

  7. Without sounding melodramatic, Jackie was taken away too quickly in the game. As a character I feel he still had a major role to fill, and I still do. Such wasted potential on many levels. I think CDPR burned an important bridge within the game when they killed Jackie off so quickly. Even if they'd kept in the point where Jackie does die, they could have, at least, allowed you to play through the time period leading up to that point instead of throwing in a montage of your time together.
I repeat, such a waste, and I hope CDPR are kicking their own arses over it. You done fu**ed up, Red, ya bunch of gonks!
