After hearing numerous people say that Cyberpunk 2077 was a masterpiece, I decided to give the game another try for the first time since release. What I found was a game that both subverts and falls short of exploring its own genre.

Just finished my first playthrough. I didn't think it was all that great. It was fun, but i wouldn't call it a masterpiece or anything. Rdr2 was better in my opinion
Kinda wish they took a page from Mass Effect and have a squad to command.
Great video! Though I went in thinking you were just hating, I walked out understanding your genuine criticism. I would've liked to hear what your definition of punk really is, since it's never defined in the video; nonetheless, I'm glad you eventually enjoyed the game, as I have.
My thoughts were that the story and side quests were always good and enthralling.
However, the games glitches and bugs held it back. It is as good as it should have been on launch.
Yo dude I love ur content and ur eldern ring content really helped me thx
I say this as someone who had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed this game when I played it, but I entirely agree with you about this game missing the point of cyberpunk. It's a fun first person shooter with a cyberpunk aesthetic, but it has no real understanding of what cyberpunk is actually supposed to be about. Cyberpunk is my fav genre of sci-fi and I am really fed up with how often you find its aesthetic lathered all over something with none of the substance
As someone who’s really interested in the many different interpretations of the ethos and beliefs of punk subculture, I really appreciated this video. My most recent play through I tried giving my character an arc that let me examine the games outlook on what punk is. However, I’d often lose track of that and get caught up in playing and immersing myself in what my character would do. This video was a nice second look to see what someone else thought about the game’s systems and text, as well as things I didn’t pick up on at all. Good stuff!
Its no Cyberpunk, is more like NEON-Liberal.
are you taking your 'cyberpunk' genre notes from technomancer? or just up your ass? anyway, your arguments come up as shallow
