Cyberpunk 2077 | Is it WORTH IT After Patch 1.3? (8 Months Later)

So i’ve been playing Cyberpunk 2077 for a few days now, freshly after the newest patch 1.3 dropped. I haven’t played through the game since release, so – here are my thoughts. Is it worth reinstalling? Should you buy it?
Are the bugs gamebreaking? I’ll answer all that and more in the video.

  1. But how is it on base PS4?

Edit: also, as someone who almost exclusively went “Cool” it was completely freaking useless and the game straight up was NOT FUN playing that way. Attempting basically a pacifist/talking run is trash. Makes the game seem bad. Probably just the play style, but Hell, if one entire Attribute is garbage, wtf? It shouldn’t even be in the game. Glad I got my refund. Won’t be rebuying. I may have enjoyed it if it launched in a playable state and I tried literally any other build and play style… but goddamn. My experience was like a 4/10 at best. I’d rather play through Mass Effect Andromeda 4 more times (and it’s the only one I didn’t even finish my 2nd playthrough on since it had no replay value) or probably even Anthem would be enjoyable than my specific experience was.

If you’re interested in this game, my advice is NOT “don’t buy it.” It’s simply, “don’t play Cool/pacifist/no-kill.” The game doesn’t support it properly.

  2. Heard they recently hired modders to work on the game and help release official modding tools, this is a smart move and I hope to someday play this game and not be disappointed.

  3. If you're on pc and you have a fairly high tolerance towards those minor bugs that sometimes are funny and sometimes a bit immersion breaking, you should most definitely get this game now if at all interested.
If on the other hand you're very picky when it comes to bugs and you don't want to see any, then it's probably not worth it.
The overall gaming experience for me personally has been absolutely great and I can in all honesty say that Cyberpunk is one of the best gaming experiences I've had in a long time even though it's somewhat rough around the edges.
As for the console versions, I don't know how it runs/works with them.

  4. I've had cyberpunk 2077 since release yeah it's always been a little buggy but I liked it it's got a decent story decent gameplay and was fun as long as you can get around falling through the map sometimes.

  5. I’m still angry they refused my refund because I kept going into the character generator every few months, built a char, then finally played one 2 months ago for an hour… which equaled 3 hours of play and killed my eligibility for a refund. I will never buy a game from that company again. I tried to give them a chance and am now paying for it.

  8. Been playing Cyberpunk 2077 again since the update. It does seem a lot smoother and less buggy experience now.. What the game needs is a next gen graphics upgrade for consoles and complete overhaul of NPC reactions, better driving, and in game customisation. I really like the main story and side quests, but Night City still feels so… empty.

  9. really? Can't think of anything else that makes Cyberpunk a bad game, beyond just the bugs?

I think maybe you need to go back to some open-world RPGs we've had previously, because the systems in this game have been designed slap-dash, and cobbled together with dirty fixes to meet that unreasonable holiday deadline the management set.

For example, let's talk about one of the biggest changes they made in 1.3, changing one of the core systems. Crafting is now dictated by your Crafting skill level, and no longer your character level. This is good, and seems like how it should have been right away, but why didn't they do it in the first place? Because they didn't have time to refine that system hardly at all and needed something that was quick, easy, and kept a steady rate of forward progression, so tying it to your over all character level was the decision as it covered that criteria, but it wasn't a GOOD system. This likely also plays into why your SPRINT speed is tied to your character level and why gear is level-locked with required, arbitrary levels in order to equip them. It also explains the EXCESSIVE use of RNG in this game, relying on so many factors of random chance in the background to get good results such as mod slots and special stats, for weapons and armor. With luck, after the crafting change we saw in 1.3, we're going to see more and more of these systems getting fleshed out with less dependence on things like character level and random generation.

  10. Man I'm one of the few that played the game at release and still loved it despite the flaws. Fortunately I was playing on PS5, so the only inconvenient I had was my game crashing every two hours (but that got super annoying after a while LOL). I'm glad to see the game has stabilized, but I'm eager to hear more about when the next gen version are coming out because that's when I'll be hopping back in.

  11. Good game just still very rough and Janky. I’ve had it since day one series X it’s ok but I’ve had the odd crashes and funny glitches. Even after current patch I still had some glitches and issues. I would certainly still wait. I’m waiting for next gen patch etc and more fixes.

  12. Played 800 hrs of this game and loved it. Playing Cyberpunk is like dating a really hot girl that farts occasionally. You will have a good time if you can bear with the occasional stench.

  13. It's just nowhere near as good as the witcher. Specifically, I wasn't interested in a future GTA. Granted, I've not finished the game, I put about 12 hours in before quitting. I will finish it eventually, but it just didn't grab me. Story wasn't particularly compelling, side missions were kinda meh. I really tried to be positive since release, but at this point I'm honestly just overall dissapointed.
