It’s here, arguably this years most anticipated game launch has arrived so it’s time to find out if Cyberpunk 2077 VR / Cyberpunk 2077 in VR is possible… This is probably my most requested Will it VR episode ever & I worked all morning to try and get it working with no joy but then this afternoon an update for Vorpx dropped & it now works! Cyberpunk 2077 VR is real thanks to this Vorpx profile but Will it VR? and is it worth playing like this right now… let’s find out!

This Cyberpunk 2077 Vorpx profile is a work in progress, that’s probably the most important thing to bear in mind when trying to experience some Cyberpunk 2077 VR mode / Cyberpunk 2077 VR gameplay for yourself. I have a pretty solid PC setup but to achieve desirable/playable results in Vorpx I needed to drop my graphics settings to medium (and then eventually all the way to low) to be able to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 VR. It didn’t look the prettiest but it didn’t look BAD by any stretch of the imagination. Cyberpunk 2077 Vorpx headtracking was smooth after a little tinkering & it felt reasonably immersive once I was really into the action (gun fights feel particularly chunky & dangerous) but at the moment there is only Z Adaptive 3D & Z Normal 3D options in the Cyberpunk 2077 Vorpx profile which will be a deal breaker for many as although they offer depth & scale it isn’t the true 3D experience & does throw up some strange graphical glitches.

At this point I am blown away with the dedication & work with the guys at Vorpx (realistically probably one guy… looking at you Ralf) and I have no doubt that this profile for Cyberpunk will be an incredible & immersive way to play this game in VR after some further tweaks & changes. For now however I’d say experience it on a flatscreen with all the bells and whistles & then come back to Cyberpunk VR / Cyberpunk 2077 VR when the Vorpx profile has been fine tuned to perfection. It shows huge promise, but it’s not quite there yet and doesn’t quite compete with the best Vorpx games 2020…

  1. Test number 2, now with my Oculus Rift S, recording in 1080p & with all in game settings maxed out! MUCH BETTER, jump in and give it a go if you want to experience Cyberpunk 2077 in VR with Vorpx! There are still MANY issues with the game iteself & I'm not fully in love with it, but I'll spend this weekend getting stuck in and I'm sure I'll have a verdict next week

  3. He could have avoided the bad experience with the Quest 2 by using Virtual Desktop – I'm sure he knew that already before making this video.

I'm sure a lot of Quest owners know who play PCVR in this community have seen plenty of videos covering why you shouldn't use a Link cable as it adds latency and worse image quality as compared to using virtual desktop.

Beardo I love your videos, but coming from me – someone who has only been in the VR community for only a couple months since I picked up a quest 2 – I feel you already knew the above.

Why not make a new video testing virtual desktop with CyberPunk and VORPX if you have a decent internet connection at home, as this will be a completely wireless experience and not dealing with Oculus link hogging up resources and compressing reducing the image quality?

I believe you unintentionally triggered/scared some quest users out of using VORPX and CyberPunk; and even though you responded in the comments that Virtual Desktop method would work, a new video on this might be better.

    Cheers,

    Cedric

  4. Looks noice, i had the Viktor bug too all i had to do was get to that stage talk to him once ,save the game, exit to main menu, load the save and it instantly progressed me to the next step

  5. i tried gta5 for Oculus Rift by VorpX. it was a good immersion effect, but my gtx 1070 on that day gives less 30fps with this mode (and more 60fps without VR), so playing was uncomfortable. Also, I'm quickly got tired of this.

  6. hey im thinkin about getting into VR. have you tried streaming games to your Quest 2 instead of using Link? I've heard that's pretty comparable to the rift s. I'm unsure what headset to buy now that the rift has been discontinued but i keep hearing things saying it's still better than the quest. What do you think?

  7. Thank you for sharing, I just tried it in vorpx, alternating between direct 3d and immersive 3d. The latter was much more comfortable as you said. Either way, neither is ideal for a number of reasons: panoramic view limitations – the game is not meant for you to look straight up or straight down in a car so it cuts off, performance – shockingly my laptop did not explode when playing it with the vorpx profile and most of the settings on high, but nothing looked crisp, and everything still seemed zoomed in.
The fact however that it works as well as it did, means that this is a prime candidate for the next VR mod. This game just begs to be in VR.

  8. I hope you get some kickbacks from vorpx. Your cyberpunk videos alone have almost sold it to me. Lets be honest most people that can afford high end PC VR will drop the cash on vorpx to give it a go.

  9. Crap, i accidently overwrote the .json file for the controller, now im getting the flatlined error message and am unable to play the game. By chance is there anyway you could send the original options.json file. If not its okay

  10. Is the problem with Quest 2 + Link a hardware issue, or is it just that it hasn't been as optimized as Rift S? I guess what I'm asking is, would Quest 2 get to this point some time ?

  11. The game looks great, Witcher 3 and GTA V had a kid and his name is Cyberpunk 2077, still better name than Elon's kid.

It's easy Youtubers and journalists jump to hate train, easy videos and easy money. And you didn't do that.

But your appreciation for GTA V distorts your view and memory is short. GTA V on PS3 was terrible, shipped with 1080i and later Rockstar dropped it to 720p to run decently. It had 20fps, screen tearing and funny AI bugs. City was empty from NPCs too.

What is off from Cyberpunk I can give you an answer, Cyberpunk is a cold, violent and dystopic capitalistic environment with lust, porn, sensationalism, cynicism, prostitutes, drugs, blood, psychos, corruption, oligarchic political system and zero effort to humorize the whole situation in any way like on GTA V. No funny and violent the same way Trevor…
It's dark, lustful, and dystopian. Americans not gonna love it. Cyberpunk is deep and GTA V is epidemic. A good restaurant and a fast food.

In other words, GTA V fanboy calm down and you will get your GTA VI in the future.

When you compare Cyberpunk VS GTA V is like comparing Scarface VS Blade Runner. One cannot replace the other one.

And I am not trying to be diplomatic as you say you did and I admit my personal preference is on Cyberpunk and Blade Runner camp.

What I don't like on Cyberpunk, controller playing isn't good, it's a PC game and you need mouse keyboard to enjoy it. Also third person driving on GTA V is far better but in car driving is magical. Also aiming on GTA V with controller is better or easier.

  12. Hey, I was going to purchase the Quest 2 with the Link cable especially for Cyberpunk 2077. After seeing your original video it looks like it's the wrong decision!
I've seen on other videos that it's possible to increase the bandwidth and refresh rate using the Oculus debug tools. Have you tried, or rather can you try using the dev tools to increase the bandwidth via the Link cable (defaults to 150Mbps). Looks like it's possible to increase it to 500Mbps. Does this help with the quality?
Here's a simple video to follow if you're up for it?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq2a_rgL3c4&list=PLsWNHzBDYSlLrpQfbubk0xcmK9l8frW3M&index=6

  13. i have a quest 2, im not buying a rift s just for cyberpunk.. im sure the quest 2 would be even better than the rift s .. when a good profile is available.. maybe it is already ?
i tried a friends rift s and wasn't impressed so bought the quest 2.. resolution seems a lot sharper and zero screen door.. true, quest 2 is not using display port, but i play Alyx on full settings.. cant see why the rift S would be better with vorpx

  14. Personally I enjoyed the game flat. It's probably one when I do have the funds for a beefier PC and headset that I'll revisit but for now I just enjoyed the game even at launch. Sure there were issues but I really didn't have as many as most people. I'd say 4 crashes total in about 70 hours of play time. Most were toward the end of the game. Still with issues I had a fun time.and that's what gaming is all about.

  15. just bought Vorpx and tried with Cyberpunk, but I don't understand it. It's like a super zoomed in screen to the point you cant see the full screen and many options of the menu are offscreen also. I will try without the online profile as that puts the resolution down to potato level but how to fix menus being offscreen? Even if you turn to look a the menu, it's not possible because in Full vr the full screen moves with you ??? thanks anyone whose clever here 😀
