Cyberpunk 2077 has had a rough launch… but recently those troubles have only compounded as the company was targeted by a hacker group able to breach their servers, encrypt their files and steal a trove of data which may have untold consequences.

Not only that, but the source code for their flagship games has not been reportedly sold online to the highest bidder.

  1. Great video!!! Why don't these hackers get at GTA 5 or COD games that matter to mainstream gaming. Bring them down for their poor practices and such. Not just the neche group that you all fall into because it's convenient and or a personal attack to do so.

Go for truly POP GAMER culture then we can talk!!!

If I had their talents and abilities I'm going straight for mainstream POP GAMER culture not for small emotional hacker culture games.

  2. I think nobody sold anything or ver 2 CDPR bought this data themselves ( thinking that polish gov done this is stupid because PL gov politics is anti private companies now and support government owned institutions, they will never Pay money some kids who stole data from CDPR )

  3. From what I read on a Polish site Spidersweb (unfortunately, it seems that article is no longer available, maybe due to copyrights or something, but it's headline can still be googled), the code for Gwent incomplete and did not contain a full game, but only a test build, with many elements missing and bug reporting tools instead. So there is also a chance that hackers did not have as much as they thought/claimed and all they wanted was to get rid of a hot potato. Yes, it is a stretch, but in this situation, what isn't one actually?

  4. One more reach CDPR is behind this, I already hear "we can do anything more with CP2077 the source code was stolen and we do not have access to our servers" . Yes company is burn but the millions ..they still have it.

  5. This reminds of the Sony hacking years ago. I think to myself, "if you could do such a thing, why in the world would you bother targeting x video game company?" It's just childish to me. It would be like being Superman and using your powers to pull down people's pants down for a laugh. This is not the act of people who give a shit about anything, these people are puerile idiots that only gin up more anger in the world and don't seek any real justice about anything.

  6. I initially thought it was BS because "No way they didn't improve security after the first one" and I also found weird the specification of the hacker about legal documents as in it would be a "happy accident" since CDPR could accuse the parties suing them of using evidence obtained unlawfully or something. But oh well turns out I was overestimating CDPR inteligence.
About the motive I think it's simple, it's just that the game got popular and their defences proved to be weak, the hackers gambled on them not patching the security flaws well enough and it paid off. As for why they don't attack other companies I think it's because they take security seriously.

  7. Until we see substantial documents thst could actually trouble the company, im unconvinced this wasnt some charade performed by CDPR make some money.

They according to my theory, they pretended they were hacked, released source code to 'prove' it and sold said source code and bunch of other 'mystery data' on an untraceable darkweb auction.

The data is not damaging to CDPR and they are getting $7million for selling stuff they dont mind being out there anyway.

  8. Polish government helping and buying leaked files? HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA You are giving them WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT xD They don't care AT ALL. Why? I'll tell you. Instead of helping local and family businesses during this planeddemic they gave them some "change". The vast majority of "C19 help funds" were directed toward big shopping chains like Lidl, Biedronka or Kaufland, none of which were locked during the lockdown like smaller shops. What is common among them? External ownership. So they don't care about local business like CDPR and that they were hacked.
