In the previous two videos, we looked at the performance of Cyberpunk 2077 on an old ASUS G751JT gaming laptop. With the 1.04 update we saw framerates improve, but with the release of 1.05, I wanted to see if there were more improvements to performance on this older hardware. I also updated the NVidia graphics drivers to 460.89 which will hopefully help as well.

The specs of the laptop I am playing on is the following:

ASUS G751JT
i7-4720HQ @ 2.6GHz (Turbo 3.6 GHz)
32 GB DDR 3 RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970M 3 GB
1 TB WD Black NVMe SSD

If you compare today’s gameplay to 1.04’s gameplay here:

You’ll notice some good improvements – for the most part the game stays over the magic 30fps mark and feels a lot smoother – there are some points where it misses the mark, but for the most part, the game runs smoother than before.

  1. I overclocked my 970M +135 core, +300 memory and increased fps by 10% in Gears of War 4. It was easy to do, just did the adjustments in MSI Afterburner, nothing involving voltage. Wonder if that would help as well. Anyway, thanks for the updates on this demanding game!
