Video was taken in the most demanding part of the game. The CPU is struggling in high density NPC areas. In missions that are indoors FPS is above 45 FPS mostly and driving in the desert is is more than 55 FPS.

I change my Settings to medium present half way through and am CPU limited.

FX 8350 @ 4.46Ghz 1.404V/ HT and NB at 2460Mhz
Ram 16gb 2400Mhz 11-13-13-31-44
GTX 1070 2025Mhz/4400Mhz (Core/Memory)

  1. Did you modify the archives of the game following some guide or just modified the in-game settings?
Im with a 8350, 1060 6gb and 16gb ram… I should be able to run something like you but at 1080p… I’ll have to look

  2. friend I have an 8350 fx at 4.4Ghz 16gb ram 1866mhz and a RX 5500 XT 4GB OC and the game in closed spaces goes to 60 fps (in low graphics) and in open world or when driving in vehicles it drops me down to 25 or 29 fps. Any solution how to improve the FX?

  3. I got an 8350 with a 1060. The first few days performance was terrible. Once 1.04 came out and the GeForce driver patch landed I fidled with the settings and now it runs great. Can't believe this 8 year old cpu is still chugging. Long live the 8350!

  4. I have a [email protected], 2611MHz link and simalure ram 16GB (XMP) 2400 11 13 13 35 48, but i found the ram ran slower than the initial 2x4GB sticks of 1866 cas7 8 7 11 20 (i think). So i tried it at 1866 7 7 7 11 and of course it was just as fast as before, but i bought 2400 ram!! So now i have it at 2133MHz 9 11 11 28 43, its still slower but by 1-2% lol and it leaves me feeling warm inside as its within margin of error 🙂

Now!! When did it run fast and when did it run slower!? It ran about the same (1866 vs 2400) in games but definitely slower in Cine Bench. Real time vs compute or bandwidth vs latency, there's a trade off but also depending on the sweet spot for ram speed for your CPU. Zen 1 and 2 is 3600MHz but the FX chips seemed to be 1866, anything above that would cause synchronous issues :-/

Then you can get into Ranks, you want no more than 4 ranks for your CPU to pull from (dual channel setup) and less than will have less resources for your CPU. That would be two sticks of dual ranks ram or single rank for 4 sticks of ram. 4 single rank sticks will allow for higher ram speeds/overclock, but at that point your getting into niche and expensive ram.

Flys away amd down into my moms basement

  5. The reason it runs so well on this CPU is because the game is actually coded for Bulldozer. They never updated it to take advantage of the newer architecture. So anyone running ryzen (including me) will have to look into mods to get better performance out of those CPUs. But hey, for the people still rocking bulldozer, glad you got a surprisingly playable version of the game lmao

  6. I am using an FX8350 at 4.4mhz 8 cores and an Readon RX 580 16 GB DDR3 2214 mhz and on medium graphics i have between 39 to 46 Fps in Night City and outside i have between 50 to 55. Also i am Using an 144hz Minitor with free sync that allows the game to feel like it runs smooth (no lags) but when i am in Crowded places it drops down to 34-36. Any suggestions to improve those fps just a bit tho ?

  7. I'm using a 8350 with an r9 390 and surprisingly was able to make it playable lol. It doesn't look amazing, but it looks a lot better than I thought it would have to for me to run it.

  8. His frames would tank driving at high speeds in third person view in the middle of the city on older cpu architecture such the fx series. But of course he doesn't show you that. The below video is paired with a gtx 1080 makes no difference if your game is bottlenecked by your cpu and this game is very cpu intensive.

    Case in point

  9. gtx1070 + Ryzen 5 3600 here, and Cyber Punk runs fine, shame the game itself is just not all that, i'll take GTA or Deus Ex over it anyday. If your are on the fence over CyberPunk, i'd suggest you stay there for a bit.

  10. Going to dig out my old 990FX sabertooth rev 2, Fx-8150 4.75 Ghz OC and test just for lols 🙂 I know this game was originally optimized for FX cpu's and not Ryzen, but it's fun to test it out. My Ryzen 7 3800XT also takes a good hit in the balls in busy areas in this game, but again, i have not seen a single benchmark with a cpu which didn't :')
