Here’s a little look at the oil fields in Cyberpunk 2077. This area is wham and mostly unused. So let’s have a gander to see if there’s anything interesting hiding in here.

  1. This definitely looks cut. I can see the vertical areas in your other videos being there just for decoration but these roads look way too elaborated for them to just be background decoration, they even have those small hills and everything. Hopefully its accesible with the expansion but i doubt it

  2. I wonder how much of the map creation cdpr managed to automate. I wouldn't be surprised if they have tools to generate the landscape and roads which would explain why stuff like collisions and navigation works (well, as much as it does in the rest of the game at least). They might have just have added extra space here while working on the story stuff just in case they need it.

  3. I love that you seem to be finding your groove in these Cyberpunk videos. I'd have assumed you would've run out of unused content in this game by now but there's just a crazy amount of it, lmao

  4. after the chippin in mission i got curious because of how quickly it cuts you off and decided to fly around and get a better look at that area. had the same reaction to the collision working, detailed models, and proper navigation on the map. definitely seems like there was supposed to be more there and the way the roads and terrain are sculpted really does look like they ran out of time LOL. but it got me thinking about the expansion and if there's any chance that they expand up there too. i doubt it because whatever they're doing with phantom liberty seems to be focused on the southern regions of the map, but idk, maybe the whole point of a larger NUSA presence is that they want to take over NC for their abundant supply of oil lmfao

  5. Not sure if a lot of people tell you this but, yes, I do find these videos very interesting. Unexplored or lesser known areas of the maps are always intriguing to learn about especially in a game with a giant spotlight on it.

  6. The developers were planning a much more flushed out game, the whole reason it was prevented was managers and the development for last gen consoles. If this was Next Gen only it would be a spectacle to see what was planned

  7. With how far behind they were at release this is likely a whole other section they meant to put in but it got cut to facilitate the release of the game. Probably was easier for them to put up some invisible walls and impassable barriers than to take it out. Maybe they will use it in the DLC.

  8. If you notice while you're driving up towards one of those no entry fences there's actually a building that says "no future" almost like the devs were telling us there is no future to this game

  9. i searched this cause i wanted to see an aerial view of the place.. i think people be reading into this too much, there may have been some side missions planned for the area, a gig or something. But they had to push the game out fast and probably decided half way through development that there's not much you can actually do with an oil field in terms of story/missions/etc. So its just left as immersion and backdrop – which is great in itself, i mean GTAV just cheated and made the city into an island surrounded by sea instead of think of a way to connect it to the land and make it look like like a real place in the world
