Cyberpunk 2077’s initial launch period was highlighted by game-breaking bugs and massive performance issues across last-gen Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles at the time. In an unprecedented move, Microsoft and Sony began issuing refunds, with Cyberpunk 2077 being removed from the PlayStation storefront for a lengthy period of time.

Fast-forward to 2022, and Cyberpunk 2077’s road to recovery has seen developer CD Projekt release massive patches that have helped it find new life on console and PC. The recent Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series on Netflix has also helped shift new fans to the game, and on Steam the game has climbed the charts and remains in the top 10 most-played games on Steam currently.

  1. Netflix also boosted views of cowboy bebop after they made their adaptation of it. Also side note i saw an unusual amount of jericho 941 purchases lol (spikes pistol). Netflix helped this amazing game I played week 1 on pc & BARELY encountered a bug played all way through so that ending was powerful for me 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾❤. 7700k gtx1070.

  2. This is the proof of concept with anime colabs coming into the mainstream we needed. It's going to not only be here to stay, but I believe we're about to see an explosion of high quality anime and lore being more fleshed out for games we always hungered for!

  3. Who's fault was that though? they rushed an unstable buggy game with lots of cut content and features, current popularity is mainly due to the netflix anime and surge of its weeaboo players

  4. Bought this game on sale a while back, after knowing how much CDPR put into the Witcher(also loved) knew this game would eventually come up to par. Glad to see it make this much stride.

  5. I don't want to be cynical here, but seeing the cutscene with v, still makes me upset that the game didn't even had cutscenes to show your character. Red dead 2, god of War, heck even doom eternal, had great cutscenes to show off your character customization. But we only have a mirror in cyberpunk. Even resident evil 8 gold edition is getting a 3rd person view. Capcom found a way to do that. I wish cyberpunk would've gotten better treatment.

  6. If they didnt do this stupidity they did, if they launch at current state now, enforced by Edgerunners great anime (also not synchronize this both was kinda idiotic strategy), they would be on top of the game right now with all the glory.

  7. The game is really fun and much improved but I really hope they don’t just drop it next year. They owe us, they owe their reputation. If they wanna keep up some goodwill going into Witcher 4 etc., they need to keep doing better.

  8. I've played since launch on xbox one and didn't really experience anything game breaking until a few updates ago. Worst was just bad textures and bodies flopping around evrywhere
