In this Cyberpunk 2077 Build Guide I’ll be showing you my Ghost Wire Build which is a Build that uses the Monowire Cyberware to whip enemies to death from a distance, either from Stealth or while in melee combat. If you’ve been trying to figure out how to use the Monowire effectively then this Build is for you!

The Ghost Wire Build is a very dynamic Build because it involves both Stealth and melee combat, as well as a lot of running, jumping, climbing and sliding etc. The Monowire Cyberware is a very interesting Melee Weapon because it is considered Blunt Damage, and is affected by the Street Brawler Perks. What’s even more interesting is that it can set Bleeding, as well as dismember enemies despite being “Blunt”.
The Monowire is considered a Melee Weapon, and has exceptionally long range, and can stagger enemies easily. One whip from Stealth is usually all it takes to dispatch most enemies, and should you some how fail to do so, a couple more cracks and your target is sure to die. If you like Stealth and Melee gameplay, but don’t want to have to choose between the two then you’ll love the Monowire.
Ghost Wire Tips
A big part of this Build is getting used to the rather bizarre moveset of the Monowire. It’s hitboxes are very strange, and sometimes you miss things that seem to be directly in front of you, and hit things you’re relatively sure you shouldn’t have hit. My best advice is always line us your attacks from Stealth carefully to make sure they succeed, and when in open melee combat just mash attack as fast as you can since that seems to get the job done.
Be sure to use the Big Sleep Daemon before you begin moving into a group of enemies, picking them off. A lot of times it seems like there are no cameras around, but there is generally at least one that is hidden you might not see. Get in the habit of doing this every time, unless there are like 3 enemies, so that you don’t have to reload your game.
Remember that even if an enemy spots you, if you kill him quickly enough the other enemies may not know where you are. Use this to your advantage and get back into Stealth ASAP, so that you can pick them off as they pass by you. Sometimes enemies being slightly alerted works to your advantage.
Make sure to equip and use the Ping Quickhack so that you know where enemies are and you can plan accordingly. Keeping this Quickhack up is a big part of playing this Build from Stealth, so remember to keep using it as you make your way through enemies. It helps a ton.
Lastly, this Build can be played more on the Stealth side or more on the melee side, depending on how you invest your Attributes and Perk Points. If you prefer more Stealth, then boost Cool first and Body second. If you want more open melee then you can do the opposite and boost Body and then Cool. The choice is up to you, but I really love the Stealth!

For stealth you’re better off using gorilla arms, multi purpose, for bashing in faces and infiltration
The Monowire reminds me so much of Johnny Mnemonic where a yakuza henchman fights with a monowire attached to his thumb
Just going to throw this out there since I've been doing something similar this. First, maxing body, cool and intelligence is super critical to make this work the best. Second, the reason you want intelligence is not just for the cyberware, though good, is not nearly as amazing as the passive is for the legendary short circuit quickhack. Which for those who don't know, activates short circuut on any enemy hit by a critical hit from weapons. So monowires sweeping multiple enemies with a high crit chance almost doubles your damage per hit. And finally, of all of the monowire modifications the poison ones are the best because of poison perks from cool. Now I will say that this a fairly late game build but one of the absolute strongest out there. With all of the good street brawler perks out there for stunning and regenerating health on hits, you also deal poison damage which let's you deal an additonal 20% extra damage, and some serious electrical damage from the short circuit passive effect. Meaning with all the right perks, you are stunning enemies 30% of the time you hit, regenerating 20% per hit on said stunned enemies, deal an extra 50% damage to the stunned enemies, deal some lethal electrical damage, deal poison damage to them, slow poisoned enemies, deal 20% more damage to poisoned enemies. THAT absurd combo is what makes body, cool and intelligence one of the best, and most versatile ways to play the game. Being a hacker, a tank, and a very stealthy boi.
Man what a bummer, I played a male v that did str/cool/int with gorilla arms and was really looking forward to a wildly different build the next go around for female V…but these monowires build exactly the same and look super cool, would totally fit the vibe I'm looking for.
Making worst weapon into best weapon. This is interesting
I’ll try it but with the short circuit style since I’m playing int this time
What do you guys think? Chemical monowire or Electric monowire?
I was thinking about a build that would max body, intelligence and cool, there's a quickhack that can shock enemies on crits, monowire has a chemical mod, so I'ma try and stack poison and electrical dmg to make em more effective if I can. You'd be a tank that can do those annoying beat the brat missions easily with a gorilla arm swap and also stealth with quickhacks and melee whenever you want, Its prolly the strongest char possible, stronger than snipers, or pistol/revolvers that do 100mill dmg, but would just take more levels and grinding to have enough points for it.
dude just dont copy other viral video … do your own
didn't know the monowire was coded as a blunt weapon. i thought it was a bladed weapon as it's description says it has a one molecule thick blade capable of severing limbs. also didn't know annihilation perks worked with weapons other then shotguns and machine guns.
I feel like you should have mentioned which OS you find most usefull as cyberdeck, berzerk, and sandevistan all have very distinct uses with this build.
Do you remember where you got ur cool gasmask?? o.O
where is the difference between "sneaking" and "crouching while stealth"?
I still feel like the monowire shouldn't be considered a blunt weapon at all. It should 100% be just a cool based weapon that increases cold blood or stealth instead of brawling.
Berserk can help too
I had no idea it scanned off the Brawler tree! I want to try this now! I live how different the builds can be in Cyberpunk
Is it just my phone or are sub comment replies to comments not always showing up?
lynx paw should be good with this, constant crouch even while standing/running so you can power attack for an extra 50% damage with the 100% melee bonus from ninjutsu
Oh, so it's every other fucking melee arm aug. Got it….
The lvl 20 Skill of the stealth tree that grants you 200% damage and guarantees a crit doesnt apply to the monowire due to it lacking the meele weapon attribute. Meaning on very hard this class isnt viable. I tried building it, just hit the 20th level on the stealth attribute, Damage didnt change. Great work, Guess you prolly didnt even try this class before you put it out there.
Well shit, looks like patch 1.2 removed both the legendary monowire and mantis blades, checked on 3 different characters. Monowire was replaced with a baseball bat, and mantis blades were replaced with a piece of armor. Was just going to roll a monowire build today.
I have a question in one of the trailers it showed the person kinda lasso the person and hack them with the wire how do you do that
Can you quick hack with it?
@6:22 I found a baseball bat, not a monowire wtf!
Does 'Silent and Deadly' counts while using melee weapons?
And now I'm havin' a lot more fun after this. Thanks for the guide. Works great.
For people coming to the game late.. Most of these perks listed on this "build" do not work with monowire. For example the annihilation ones, they only work with shotguns/lmg's. Generally speaking this build is all over the place and not that well thought up. But i guess that is because when making the build the game was new and not much was known about it yet.
I couldn’t figure out how to use the wire. Thanks for this.
When i saw this weapon in the movie johnny mnemonic i was very happy
Great video big help thank you
10/31/2021: ive found multiple sources talking about the free legendary monowire near kabuki, but it just wasnt there when i looked
What level do I need to be to find the wire
This build is hot garbage. It's almost like the person who made it never even read the perk descriptions..
Not gonna lie, I prefer the knife to the monowire. The poison perks in stealth turn a basic crafted knife into a knockout machine. One slice is enough to knock out a skulled enemy… just run away and let it work. It's also cheap to build and upgrade. Less risk of accidently hitting a civilian too.
Dead Center and Skeet Shooter only work for annihilation weapons like shotguns. Also, the legendary monowire (and mantis blades) is no longer there.
Thank you your the first to tell me what stats affect monowire
Ik this game is old news now, but would you be able to do a new build with monowire? Even if it after the new update, I only have 400 hours, which isn't alot, but I haven't made a build with them yet, and still getting used to build crafting, would you kindly go in depth?
Bummer. Found rare monowire with burn damage.
No ripper doc will install it for me.
But they'll offer to sell one if I have 20 street cred.
Took the wires I found to 3 different docs: no dice
Full Gameplay Rebalance mod has an option to turn the Monowire into a Sharp/Blade Weapon, highly recommend the mod.
NOTE: THIS BUILD HAS BEEN CHANGED SIGNIFICANTLY AND WILL NO LONGER WORK AS SUGGESTED!
Monowire is now governed by the Reflex and not Cool as if 1.5
