When you first try to beat Buck Arnold in Beat on the Brat Arroyo, you’re bound to get tanked. Then you might go back every now and again to try your luck only to get tanked yet again. However, it was only when I switched strategy that I got anywhere near close and then went on to beat him. You can check out the video to pick up on the tips that I came up with to defeat him, which should help you do the same to the brat.

This is the worst mechanic in the game. It's ridiculous. He hits when he's nowhere near you, he'll punch in another direction and you'll be hit, you'll be hit but no sound will indicate it, you run through him, he runs through you. It is truly awful. I am not a body build, but I AM a reflex build, and it should be possible to win these fights leaning on reflex, but you can't. Either you're a tank or they are not possible. And don't get me started on that slow motion thing that happens seemingly randomly and I guess is supposed to help you somehow? xD I have no idea what the point of that is. Or backing into some trash on the ground and becoming stuck and instead of just walking over or around it.
i beat this guy at lvl 16 on very hard first try and i didnt use any food or anything to increase health. for those strugglling, utilize your dodge more, and try not to exhaust your stamina unless you're tee'ing off on him. and if he blocks, just push him and continue. you can beat everyone of these guys at any point in the game, but you gotta be patient if u wanna do it before your 20's.
What a dumb fucking mission. I am level 31, pretty much 1 shot 1 kill everybody but can do this fucking side quest because I was not specializing in meleefist fight.

I beat this guy easily on max difficulty but he did not give me my wager back (12k). Is this a bug or am I really trading 12k for his rifle and exp for the quest?!
Get him with his back to those pipes by the hotdog stand and just wail on him. In other places that stupid asshole kept ending up out of bounds.
That’s a nice tip but the fighting as far as fist fighting goes in this game is fucking piss awful. Witcher three at least the mechanics felt a little better, but here you can’t lock on and as everyone has said hits come out of fucking nowhere. Far as I’m concerned the fist fighting is not worth my time effort or raging about. It’s got awful terrible and I’m not wasting my time. I’m trying to enjoy the immersive Ness and challenges in night city, Not rage over broken ass stupid mechanics that don’t even make any fucking sense. LOL

I feel like he's not even hitting me. Idk if it's just me but there's no impact. No sounds or anything. Ruins the immersion for me.
Save your game right before you fight then if you lose you can just go back and re-fight so you won’t lose your money
Nice!! I went and got the epic gorilla arms and epic mod that increased damage by 100 percent.
I'm a pretty "weak" lvl 21. I consumed a health booster, stamina booster and chromanticore. After spending an hour, I just tried going for all heavy attacks. Was ez pz that way. 😀

I’m not built to be a brawler at all but I’m level 36 and have tons of armor and gorilla arms and this guy cheeses me every time. I wail on him for 10 mins and take out half of his health and he cheeses me with one move while I’m blocking. I really don’t get how to win this one.
I never did the Beat on the brat missons and just wanted to finish them. This one is labeled with danger: low because I'm level 41 – this guy beats me with two punshes.. fuck off, game! 😉
He just slides to you when you dodge. And then if I spam dodge I hit an invisible wall so that he can slide to me. Even if his punches miss my 20 feet, I take full damage. This game is 20 years behind in so many areas.
Super jump for easy dodge.
I'm an INT and TECH build and managed to take him down using your heavy attack only technique. 🙂 just took me a bit longer.
Thank you so much for this. I had so many losses to this bastard. I didn't get the arms but I am over-leveled a bit yet the fight was still hard. HOWEVER, that strong attack method worked like a charm and I was able to work him down much better and eventually win.
I only do less than 1% damage per hit
Easy peasy. I was frustrated too. Took him out using only strong attacks, no gorilla arms.When the fight first stars, hit him. Keep hitting him. If he staggers step back and regain some stamina. Rinse and repeat until he is done. When his goons come same thing, hit them with strong attacks. You can also heal at this point. I was frustrated and failed several times until I used only strong attacks. Two tries at this point beat it.
Fought for 2+ hrs with this piece of ** trying to end him at lvl 12 as an intellegence/Hack build had to use stamina and health boosts and use some perks on combat also change game mode to easy XD bc on medium he 80% of the time kills me in one hit when it literally takes 10 mins to knock him down on easy smh
I fucking love it when blocking doesn't work and shoving does nothing and he just randomly starts doing combo after combo on me without stopping
Buck cheats on my game guy healed back his HP from 16% to 58%
Did anyone got the $12k back after winning the fight and killing all of them ???
Just beat him. Anyone who’s having trouble, drop a melee weapon before the fight and pick it up. You’ll be able to use it in the fight and it’s a helluva lot easier.

I wish there was an option to just kill them and take the rifle it would be so much easier to do it that way instead of the hard way

No level req, no intel, no warning, nothing. The game just throws 3 coordinates at you, the twins (which is a piss-super easy fight) and then this fucking guy. This fucking guy. three hits and i'm dead, and i do 1% of his health with a heavy hit (if i even connect that is). So fucking stupid. Absolutely no strategy at all, only people who find different ways to cheese the boss. Fuck this.
