Great review, I would recommend using Level Scaling and Balance mod for a new playthrough as it scales all the enemies to your level, which really makes the game harder sometimes.
Even judging the game just for what it is not what it isn't I think there were some fundamental design flaws. For me personally one is the loot system.I think something more in line with Fallout would have better. There were just not enough weapons or models in game for that random roll diablo/Borderlands style of loot.
Good review you pointed out one of my main agreements with other reviewers that the world is empty. Nothing could be further from the truth but you have to try to find meaning with the world not just rush through it as I think most people do. It is in that case very similar to far cry 2 that is it much deeper than most games you just have to find the meaning
I've had about 8 crashes on ps4 Pro so far
the double jump and the throwing knife have been there since day one as i remember using them both constantly in my first playthrough. Nonetheless, great video
Great review! Enjoyed it
Two words. Half Baked
A handful of playthroughs and im STILL discovering new and alternate content and outcomes. This game is AMAZING.
I did two playthroughs at launch. Waiting for the dlc now, and I hope it is a good one. Do we have any idea what it even is?
a really great and fair review of the game, i feel exactly the way you do about cp2077 – a flawed gem that could really shine if just given a bit more polish. i also like how you included the worldbuilding via the NCPD side missions and shards, for example the human trafficking ring in watson that leads to several fixer missions is very large and you can find shards all over the city and even the badlands detailing all the various NPCs involved
I give the game 7/10. But because of all the broken promises it feels like 4/10.
This video talks a lot about cd project red being victims of expectations… they're not victims if they were the ones making the claims that raise expectations. They said there would be branching storylines. Vertical buildings with things to do on practically every level. Engaging side missions. A unique experience everything you played through the game. None of that is true.
Some of the mission quests are cut like the one with Skippy. They didn't even finish the quest line! The enemy clearing side missions which you say are different is cap. There are no unique interactions with npc's. Are they all different and world building because they give you exposition dumps to read? Don't make me laugh.
In a cyberpunk age you can't even customize your character properly. The outfits are way limited and don't influence your street cred as previously claimed by cd red. I'm replaying mass effect which is probably the best game trilogy ever. Even mass effect 1 the characters have more customizable gear which is pathetic.
I bought the game at launch (Full price). I even bought a new pc because of how cd project red was hyping the game. I enjoyed the game. But was it what THEY SAID it would be? No. Nowhere close. If you weren't following from when they announced the game then you can make a video like this. But if you believed what they said, then you have a right to be angry.
Brilliant video, I agree with pretty much everything here. The game does some things that I don't think we'll be seeing anywhere else in the near future.
The first person interactive dialogue scenes deliver some of the most immersive moments I have ever experienced in a game – the writing, voice acting and animation are just exceptionally well done in Cyberpunk. I also love that you highlighted gigs as being severely underrated. That was my take since day one and, just as you, I suspect the people who complain about them being repetitive and boring just played every one of them guns blazing without reading terminals, shards etc.
I cannot wait for the expansion next year and I really hope CDPR doesn't get too discouraged by the hate to work on a proper sequel eventually.
Biggest problem with the game & CDPR right now are SLOW PROGRESSION. The official improvements & new contents for this game is simply too slow. CDPR still crawling while PC modders basically moving with a Lamborghini.
To me, this is essentially the Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines of it’s time.
Do you think in the future they will add all the features they promised in trailers ?
