Is Cyberpunk 2077 the WORST GAME EVER? Or is it BIGGER THAN JESUS? Despite the loud, often extreme opinions and reviews, the truth is somewhere in the middle – let’s take a more measured, fair and balanced look at CD Projekt Red’s open-world RPG, one of the most hyped video games of the last decade, and work out just how much “Style over Substance” Cyberpunk actually has.
MILD SPOILER WARNING: All footage and discussion avoids spoilers where possible, but there are a couple of points which discuss the story in very vague terms, so check the timestamps below to skip these, if you wish to remain completely spoiler-free, for when you do maybe play it. Eventually. When it’s fixed. In 2077…

Nice one guys!
This isn't Ben or Peter, what's going on
Unfortunately, too many people are under the impression that bashing cyberpunk is a personality.
just let the game go already. it was meh. will forever be meh. lets get over this shitty game and move on with our lives.
Its simple, amazing concept, wet fart execution. Cyberpunk 2077 was destined to shit the bed.
Game is fine albeit a bit too ambitious for It's own good. ( I too played on the series X ) it's a 8/10 for me.
I enjoy looking forward to people yelling at me for not being of the hivemind.
I really liked the game, but that's because I wanted a story not an open world anyway.
Cyberpunk is a very good story based adventure, where you should only do the main quests and major side quests. The world is just windowdressing and should be approached as such
As an open world game it's bad, the world was created to be looked at not to be explored
My review after 35 hours on PC:
I love the world, and I love how the gameplay feels, especially big fire fights when you’re hacking and double jumping all over the place.
But it really sucks how little your choices actually matter in the grand scheme of things, and the writing isn’t at all what I’d expect from the people who made Witcher. It’s lazy, cliche, albeit occasionally brilliant, but those moments are few and far between.
Even if it ran perfectly with no issues (I find some of the bugs endearing at this point), it’s still a fundamentally flawed RPG. 8/10 is about where I’d rate it.
It had the potential to be a great game. It was rushed to make money and ended up really hurting the company. I played it on PS5 and it had bugs and crashes. Glad I got a refund. Will consider buying again, at a reduced price, if they ever get it fixed. I could see either CD Projekt Red either ceasing to be a company or being bought out because of this. I may not have had the issues that previous generation consoles suffered through, I'm not willing to pay full price to beta test for them.
The way you describe mini games making the city feel alive gives me the thought of that Yakuza 0+ with it's arcades, racing lil🏎️, 🎣, 🎤,🃏,🥡📸🖼️ that it flushed out its sense of life more immersive than this game at this point in time.😳
As I said from day one, there was nothing and no reason to be excited about this game. It isn’t based off anything new or fresh, there isn’t a set standard within its genre that likeness it to greatness and nothing actually shown about the actual game was new or refreshing. With that said it should be a good game in a few years when you can buy it for 10$ or so and it has been fixed with patches. You only have yourself to blame for wanting this game to be something it clearly showed it could never be
Got my refund from sony after 10 hours! I'll wait for the actual ps5 version and hopefully then the stuff they lied about may actually be in the game
Lit. In like 3 years I'll give it a try
Loved the jn depth content guys! Keep it up.
What a spicy meat ball of an upload boys!
I definitely love the game, though my Steam rating was a 7 out of 10. I managed to complete everything (all side missions, collect all the epic upgrades…etc) and I do look forward to DLC if they should make any. Got about 100+ hours put into it. The glitches really did take me out of the moment when I would play. I also tried the various endings and didn't really see why people hated the endings. I won't spoil them of course but mine wasn't a ending most people would agree was the best per say, but I thought it was perfect.
The graphics were indeed beautiful, though the city did indeed feel void at time. Though some mods do help like increasing render distance, increasing crowd size, color filters (because I don't care for a default yellow tint to everything). The story was also really good even though all the "choose your start" really didn't make much of a difference not long in. I also loved Silverhand despite people saying "He was annoying".
All this said given all the time they worked on it, it shouldn't have been such a mess. Side note, I played it on PC maxed out (not 4k).
I'm hoping that by the time the new gen version of the game comes out, CDPR will have come a long way in fixing and improving things to a point it begins to look a little closer to what they showed off in that 40 minute demo. I haven't played it yet because I'm waiting for PS5s to become more readily available and the current gen version would probably melt my PS4, but here's to seeing things getting better in the next year (on all fronts).
Timestamps! You do love to see it
Jus stumbled on this channel. Some really amazing content. The writing and narrating are really annoying and a major negative tho
Nice review honestly. That was a fair take.
Very good is opinable at best. Listen, i had no particular expectation but i was shocked by how featurless and barebone the game is. Yeah, it has pretty buildings; that's the best thing i can say about how ambitious the game is. The story is good, but everything gamey fails or is undercooked to the point of being literally a placeholder (the police…) for systems not really implemented. I am tolerant to bugs by necessity (you can't seriously be in gaming otherwise) but when i buy a game i expect that it's not full two years behind in development. That's the actual state of Cyberpunk 2077,
CP2077 may have destroyed the reputation of CDPR, but if it leads to the rise of James as a star in front of the TripleJump mic, it’s worth it
I love seeing people complain about Cyberpunk in the comments. Such babies. I had a great time playing it on PS4
Excellent voiceover James!! Can we have more from you in the future please? 😊
Not the fluffy ruffs! Why couldn’t they take the during-dinner mints or discount foie gras instead?
I played it for about 20 hours now I'm waiting for the series x version to draw my final conclusions . I had some fun but come on, it follow the deus ex formula a bit too much and not much to do in the city except piss people off.
