It’s been said often enough, but these three years since Cyberpunk 2077 have been excruciatingly long for fans and the development team. Numerous updates have been released, adding new features and fixes, but following Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, it seemed like support for the first-person action RPG was well and truly over.

That is, until CD Projekt RED confirmed Update 2.1, also launching on December 5th alongside the Ultimate Edition for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. It promised some β€œhotly anticipated” gameplay elements, which is an understatement based on the developer’s recent Twitch stream.

Here are the ten biggest things you need to know about the update, though beware of spoilers for the base game’s story. This isn’t everything in the update, so expect other surprises when it goes live.

  2. People keep saying new game plus. How would they even do that? A lot of the weapons and equipment are attached to story line elements. With the new game plus they would have to take those away !πŸ€·πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ

  3. The thing about the New Game+ is they say they are can't balance out the difficulty of the early missions with a fully decked out V. Fine, don't try to. We are not running a new game + for carefully balanced game content. We are doing it because we want to have see our borged to the gills V to even pretend like those border agents are any kind of threat (Nomad Intro) or to bounce those scav in mission 1 like they were toddlers. Screw game balance, that is not what new game + is about.

  4. Let it be known that CDPR have stated that DLC and Updates are separate from Expansions in their eyes. So we can expect more updates like this in the future. Unless something changes and the set their full focus on the next Witcher

  5. Awesome, only customising weapon/vehicle colours, animated eating/drinking at vendors and metal cyber limbs (base not mod) and … honestly …. I feel its fully complete game in all ways.

  6. As dumb as it sounds, the thing that killed Cyberpunk for me when I got it recently was the sprinting. It feels so awkward having to hold it down just a split second longer. It doesn't seem like anything but when you're in combat it feels like an eternity. Maybe it'll be tweaked? It's obviously not a huge change.
