Cyberpunk 2077 – Local RT Shadows Comparison
Settings maxed out. Scenes in varying DLSS settings in 1440p.
Even with real-time ray tracing still being in its infancy, I believe RT will become more important with current and coming generation hardware, so I created this channel with the intention of covering ray-traced games. There are plenty of channels doing mainly performance comparisons, my intention is to focus on the visual aspect and make the differences more obvious to viewers through my videos.

Every object cast shadow…like in real life
I REALLY hope they add this to Dying Light 2, it would make it look 10x better.
Great comparison as usual!
Unrelated to this video i was wondering how psycho differs to ultra when it comes RT lighting?
Karl Casey is a God
I’d love to see your work highlighted on DF sometime.
i don’t care what people say, this game is amazing and is the best looking game in the market! only thing it needs is better reflections in puddles and not blurry windows
elden ring vs cyberpunk 2077 1.5 who win?
Awesome comparisons. Ray traced shadows from non-sunlight artificial light sources is really underrated compared to RT reflections and GI
Wow great video. New RT looks so amazing. Maybe I can start my third play through soon. I'll get like 30fps but who cares.
I play on ps5 but i think the 30fps response time is to slow
Do you think its worth it to use these local shadows but not the other one, from the sun? Thanks for vid
Stop it, I have no time for replaying cp2077 right now!
I think these comparisons and showcases might benefit from being uploaded at 4K, even if capturing footage at 4K isn't feasible. I'm not sure how a clean 1440p capture scales to a 4K video file, but I imagine the output on YouTube would be defined regardless if 4K videos are afforded a higher bitrate.
In any case, keep up the good work.
the noise will be disappear with future iterations of ray tracing and better GPUs 😀
Great video. Shows how important these shadows really are. If you were to choose between rt reflections or rt local shadows (to maintain stable 60fps) which would you choose ?
1:11 Look how the shadows pop in with RT off that's really interesting. Good find.
Great video choom. Was waiting for it.
Waiting for a reflection& sun/moon shadow denoiser comparison of patch 1.5 vs 1.31. it'll be a real cool one. Tho I think it's a bit hard to make
Can I only use local shadows but the other rtx options off?
man! the soundtrack! amazing work
oh yeah
