Now that it’s Q1 2022, we should expect CDPR to start talking next steps for Cyberpunk 2077 at some point, as this is when they promised the next-gen versions of the game would launch, alongside a large patch. We also know they’re working on larger DLC to be released down the road. Well, according to a new alleged leak, there’s some info about both of these endeavors that sounds vaguely plausible, but the source is someone on 4chan who claims to have inside information. We’ve seen those leaks go either way over the years, and this could just be educated guesses based on rumors that already exist. But let’s go through what’s being laid out here. Cyberpunk 2077 next gen/patch 1.5 will be treated as a soft relaunch for the game. game will be renamed Cyberpunk 2077: Samurai EditionYes, I’ve always thought the next-gen release would be positioned as a soft relaunch, so this tracks. “Samurai Edition” sounds just lame enough where CDPR might actually do it. CDPR will do a big livestream around February to reveal the patch, the Cyberpunk anime and the first expansionThis would probably imply a March release date like I’ve predicted, given how crowded February has become. New patch features: barbershops, a garage, improved AI, transmog system, a complete rebalancing of the loot system, new UIThis would make it the heftiest patch to date, but given how long it will have been since the last one at that point, it’s not implausible. Barbershops, a garage and transmog have been common requests since launch. They’ve already made some AI improvements and I’ve heard that’s a priority for them. A complete rebalance of the loot system seems…ambitious, as does new UI, though that could mean anything (they redid the UI for journal entries, for instance, already). The promised free DLC will be bundled in and includes 4 new weapons, New Game Plus, apartment customization, new gigsAll of this has been datamined already so this isn’t really news. It’s supposed to be four weapon packs, not four weapons total, but we’ll see. I remain skeptical apartment customization will come to pass, but who knows. Tons of small stuff like Judy and Panam sending you more text messages during the course of the gameTheir additions so far have been integrated into the story itself (the new jackets, the new car), so I could see this being true. First expansion takes place in Pacifica which is actually quite hugeAgain, we’ve heard this before. Pacifica is where a lot of content was cut, and has been rumored to be the main location for the expansion for a while now, rather than the game adding a fully new zone. You walk around and do quests in what is called the “combat zone”The combat zone is being fought over by two new gangs: the Bozos (violent clown psychopaths with a sick sense of humor) and a gang called Slaughterhouse (violent psychopath fascists). Walking around the combat zone feels very inspired by the game STALKER. Alright well finally we’ve reached something I haven’t heard before.
