  1. Only thing The Witcher 1 needed was controller support, story/music in this game is amazing….. combat is fun like a rhythm game, seeing Geralt go crazy with well timed clicks is always cool to see. Going around town/villages looking for Witcher contracts is just as good as 2+3 and the NPC's in this game are some of the funniest.

  2. I don’t find your optimism justified. How can any of us have the slightest bit of faith in CDPR after their actions with CP?

I mean I’m going to check all their product out, through trusted reviewers and such. But never in my wildest imagination will I allow myself to ever get hyped for a single product they make.

  3. I loved the original Witcher in a lot of ways. It was a little clunky, but it was much more of a made for PC game than a made for console but playable on PC game. I really liked how the potions were handled, where you were keeping your eyes out for alcohol, especially strong alcohol, and killing monsters to gather components felt way more significant. Collectables for bedding all the various ladies was also a nice touch. I imagine the remake will feel like a very different game, and there is room for improvement, but I will always be nostalgic for the original.

  4. We know they're in preproduction, so once the lines are set stone which may be year down the line, then voice work can begin. Or they may do mocap acting like other story focused studios which usually requires a body and voice to match the experience which usually means a new voice actor.

  5. tw2>tw1>tw3 but story wise and main plot I think tw1 was a little bit better. Comparing the last game and saying its better because the first is old and has bad graphics and gameplay its like comparing star wars the original trilogy with the last one, not because it looks better its gonna be better.

  6. I'm happy they're making a remake. I finished it recently and the characters, story, and dialogue are good and deserve better than these bad game mechanics. Honestly if they could just make Geralt a bit faster and less doors between certain parts (for example from the dike to Vizima would be seamless transition), I'll also be fine with that.

  7. Witcher 1 does deserve a remake because it's a great game, with rather large flaws. However I wouldn't say one of those flaws was it's lack of an open world. The story is linear, so not sure how they will change that to make it "open." The biggest flaw of Witcher 1 was actually the EGREGIOUS sexism. You literally collect trading cards for each woman you have Geralt bang. The female character design is the worst kind of T&A focused fantasy clothing. So…personally I hope they leave some of that in 2007. So…I'll wait and see how they do updating that game for a "modern audience." The actual gameplay itself doesn't need much improvement IMO. I enjoyed it more than Witcher II in that regard.

  8. I'm sure it's a given that Cockle will return to re-record his dialogue for Witcher Remake. However, I do wonder if CDPR is wrestling with the idea of getting Henry Cavill instead due to the show.

  9. After 4 unsuccessful tries from day one , Netrunners brought me back to CP2077 and I finally played all the game.

I played the game in PS5 and even so it crashed too often originally. But after multiple fixes I really enjoy it.

It wasn’t the best open world ever. But it was good.

  10. Witcher 3 with open world was great. IMO it was almost symbolic of Geralts search for Ciri, open with only minimal direction to go on. At the same time lots of contents makes happy my brain lol

That being said I’d love to see more “on the rails” scripted games in the future where they can focus on keeping you on the edge from start to finish rather than me spending two irl days coming home from work just grabbing whatever new witcher gear I could. Because Geralt is younger in the 1st game you could potentially make a game less gear focused and more combat focused with a more unique and engaging combat system. Idk I’m not super creative but that sounds pretty cool

  11. Why is everyone obsessed with exceeding expectations and forcing evolution? I understand across generations and for new IP, but dang man. Why can't a game just be remade up to the same standard of a recent release? I mean shit, the witcher remake is going to be in unreal so even if they just level the game mechanically and functionally to the witcher 3 it will still be overall better. The constant pressure for evolution is really waring on the industry.

  12. Cyberpunk is garbage, this is just my opinion. I'm not a fan of first person, me and my friends never played it. That being said, we are a big fan of the Witcher and can't wait for the remake. I hope they can remake the W2 also.
