Desperate or not its still a joke… demoing 5090 new tech on a 5 years old game, game that got barely 200m draw distance and still not being able to do even 100FPS in 4k, nvidia is insane. They can even fix damn LODs for cars, still sprites, games 15 years older did not had sprite LODs. No wonder they limited gameplay outside the city as much as possible with draw distance like this. But its answers your question as to why they doing it, its a techdemo for Nvidia, it was since day one, still the only game where ray tracing is used at more or less full.
CDPR get's paid from Nvidia to bring the new features in Cyberpunk. Clever marketing from Nvidia to promote there new Card's and the new technology.
All I know is Games that came out 10 years ago look better graphics wise than modern AAA.
someone did a video about how bad Unreal Engine 5 is for example. Basically all these new engines just fake being better by blurring and splitting frames.
DLSS 4 is a scam
It was Playstation that published the data about 80% of players choosing performance mode.
Nvidia basically pays a large amount of money to CDPR to crank up every nvidia feature in Cybercuck2077 as its their top advertising tech demo. Raytracing, pathtracing, dlss 2, 3, 4 , etc. frame generation, etc.
Meanwhile they are not as fast to implement AMDs new FSR 3.1 or such equivalent tech.
The "PR" stands for Project Red, boss. You're adding an extra "red" when you invoke their name.
CDPR going Unreal 5 is seriously super dumb when it comes to the Nvidia partnership. They used to produce really cool tech demos you could download and try at home. Since Cyberpunk launched though they've consistently just treated it like their new Go-To Tech demo. The Ironic thing is Unreal 5 and DLSS DO NOT get along whatsoever in engine. Unreal 5 heavily relies on TSR (Temporal Super Resolution) to do their upscaling and Dynamic Resolution. All that in engine tech is switched off along with their visual & performance benefits as soon as you turn on DLSS and you automatically have worse AA, Lower quality Lumen RT Reflections and Global Illumination. If anyone plays Fortnite, you'll know yourself how bad DLSS is for the visuals when Unreal themselves focused so hard on their own upscale tech that Witcher 4 will absolutely have to rely on TSR instead of DLSS since both techs can't work together in sync as of yet. It's been a problem since the original launch of Unreal 5 & Lumen along with the RTX 20 series. 3 series later and 5 years its still a problem as of now.
And in my opinion since both PS5 and Xbox are powered by Zen 2 technologies from old AMD chips from over 8 years ago and 2 generations behind the modern PC equivalent? There's no way Unreal are going to compromise on their TSR tech to prioritize over an Nvidia sponsorship. If i was to guess though. This isn't a benefit to CDPR and just a business exchange. It's a benefit to Nvidia to show off and sell new RTX cards. Instead of hiring out companies every generation to design their tech demos from scratch? They've got a very modular and consistent system built within the RED ENGINE to easily add new versions of DLSS and other Nvidia exclusive technologies like Frame Generation along with G-sync to keep selling RTX cards at launch! RED Engine actually used to work with Nvidia quite a lot even back in the Witcher 2 days so it makes sense they kept those partnerships around for Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk. They where really only a PC company back when those relationships where first made but yeah i feel this is just part of Nvidia's sponsorship deal with CDPR. They clearly aren't wanting to add more post content to the game and are well into work with the next game on Unreal 5.
They probably only need a couple programmers from the team to do the work with Nvidia anyway with how modular the engine was with it to begin with and the studio gets a good chunk of cash from the advertisement. It really won't surprise me if we continue to see Cyberpunk all the way up to the 70 and maybe even 80 series depending on how long this console gen holds out for. Its really just a massive 150+gb tech demo now a days.
DLSS was developed to make games possible on older graphics cards and it was successful but now the industry wants to use at the cutting edge, cyberpunk is the testing ground, but its causing problems with unreal engine 5, so currently instead of lifting up older cards to newer games its breaking the future, but how much more do we need improved graphics where games are falling down on gameplay and story
Lets try again Dougal, this one is very small, those ones are far away.
No Ted I'm just not getting it, it's too hard
Who cares how much definition the graffiti has as you drive past it in a game
IMO it comes down to what type of game you're playing; You want high fps count if you're playing a first person shooter but if you play RPG's, 4K 60fps with max graphic settings. I'm such a Graphical snob when i play RPG's i turn off FRS / DLSS bc it lowers your resolution to achieve a higher fps count.
What do you guys think?
I agree. Cd Projekt Red Red as you say. Is just doing it for nothing, I'd take a solid 100fps at 1080p or 720. Over 2-4k graphics. There's a point where it means little. I'd say after 1080p it's harder to see these little improvements unless you strain yourself to find em. Meanwhile 30fps on consoles is like watching people play pong with pixels bouncing around. 60fps is the minimum, anything below that is just garbage. Need to visualize that. Play Midfeild aka Starfeild for an hour at 30fps. Than put the FPS to 60. It's not the same game though it is gameplay wise. But everything just feels natural and better… Until you move faster than walking speed because Bethesda can't do anything right.
Sorry bud, No Man's Sky is the best redemption story out there to date. CDPR still has much time to work on their game before it gets close.
I never trust graphics comparison videos unless everything is exact. If there is a truck out of place, a person out of place, etc., I know it's not apples to apples and manipulated to get the results they want.
Who cares about fps in a Singleplayer game?
i mena yes when you plan unter 60fps its hard but everything over 60 you don't need it 🤷
a lot of developers will start following the same thing No mans sky is doing and using their pre existing games as bench tests for ideas for their future games or even just to test out certain things
Fake games, fake frames.
I'm fine with retro, thanks.
and every update all your mods break and you have to wait for the creators to update them or you just lose that mod.
Speak for yourself, graphical fidelity is of max importance to me in highly immersive games and I will absolutely settle for 30fps you kiddin me? I grew up on 30fps and it's not bad or noticeable in a jarring way. Fps is overrated for single player games, it's true, idc who says otherwise.
You are just saying random clickbaity words, with not meaning.
they definitevely got piad man 😂
Everyone knows Juicehead is full of crap.
I stopped upgrading my game before they released a patch for a Razor mouse I don't even use months ago. I can't take them serious after that and I brake my game just for an update. 😅
Cyberpunk still sucks. What glow up was there???
I downloaded the installer and updates through the DLC and am keeping those. They can change whatever they want, change graphics, content, whatever, I can still reinstall the original files. My 3090 won't know the difference anyway.
You claim to run Intel, you watch some comparison between native and different versions of DLSS.
And here is a twist: You think that DLSS 4.0 looks better than native as you claim you can see the POLICE text better. Meanwhile DLSS makes it so you run the game in the lower resolution meaning you get more FPS and DLSS upscales resolution to whatever you play at, it is supposted to look worse than native due to upscalling process artifacts(if you are STILL clueless then try to lower resolution of an image and then increase it back to original size. I guarantee you it will not look the same and definitely not better unless you are fan of some pixel art. Then imagine upscaller trying to bring the quality of original image but it can fail at delivering that.
You said NVIDIA proved that people prioritize FPS over graphics. What NVIDIA proved is that most people play with DLSS enabled. And it doesn't instantly mean they play in higher FPS. For instance I was playing Forza Horizon 5 with DLSS set to medium settings or worse. It came with ghosting issues, and the lights/neons had some flickering issues. But my GPU run significantly cooler. Also DLSS 4.0 is not only the upscaller but also the multiframe generation feature.
So there you have it. Your video feels like typical "haters gonna hate".
I love the game, and i appreciate the updates.and while i definitely appreciate the previous update with the color changing feature of vehicles, i would be ever grateful if they started adding more areas to explore through the towering skyscrapers as well as quests tongo along with em.
Woke Donkey slop 🫏
Why optimize games when they can fake it with ai but will always have input lag.
redemption story my ass, game sucks ass dont care what it looks like, it plays like a drunk 46yo aunty playing pool on a monday morning at 9am
i do got to defend dlss 4 a bit. cdpr dont have to do much but update the .dll file they get from nvidia so don't think they do much work…
and it really looks noticeably better its just badly shown in youtube i think and the guy doesnt actually know what is improved. because the biggest is ghosting and overall ai smudge/image stability on lower resolutions. i think the guy is already on high resolution so there isn't much to improve. if you are more limited you notice it more.
DLSS4; Now with 75% fake frames! Nvidia claims that 15fps is 60fps because "AI hallucinations count".
The guy who's been lying for years lied again? I am shok.
Since they said, they want to switch to the Unreal Engine, while throwing the Red Engine on the Junkpile, I havent got much hope for this company left…
You are absolutely right with what youre saying! Just your opinion on selling graphics for fps I see a little bit different. Basically youre right but in my opinion it depends on the game & its genre.
For example I play Apex Legends on the worst possible settings to get as much fps possible, cause I want a low response time. Why? Because having a more worse response time than your enemy, you have a disadvantage. But in Flight Simulator 2020/2024, I dont care about many frames or a high response time. Its just important, that those low fps are stable the whole time & as long as they are, I go for graphics.
They could fill in the rest of the map
They promise no more updates, then they just brick mods over and over…
from what i understand, they're trying to make more aggressive upscaling to look better (which im all for, balanced and performance looks like garbage on 1440p-2160p) but i'd like it better if they just made the game more optimized to where i dont need to upscale. im on a 4080 and considering i paid 1200 bucks to do rt+pt, i feel pretty gimped for the fact i cant get 60+fps gameplay without upscaling. and if i want to try FG, i have to aggressively upscale just so my latency doesnt tank.
granted i know how to use dsr to improve image quality, but the dlss artifacts are baaaaaaadddd. particularly on indoor scenes. I get allot of bottom screen illumination where its like i have a flashlight shining down on the bottom of the screen where there should be shadows or just pure darkness.
Im hoping the bugs and artifacting ive been seeing gets worked out on official release, but im not really counting on it. i have heard at 4k its like black magic though. so 4090/5090 users will have the best of all worlds.
New skins, new shit, more worthless gunk that in no way improves the game; only Phantom Liberty had actual content that was REAL, and that costs money, of course.
9:00 — you'll get uppity gamers telling you, "Hmph, well I can see it; I must be more advanced than you." No shit, some people will LIE like that. "I see detail at the highest level, I read at a god level…" etc.
Juicehead (Channel from the original video) used to be such a good informative Channel. Now he sucks of bethesda when they say "We own the Fallout License still" He goes on a conspiricy like video like they have 100 Fallout titles in the making due next week.
Just watch his fallout content if you want to see someone make stuff up on the spot 😀
If it was monthly I wouldn't care, this is the second time this month they force me to restart from the beginning.
They were infected by american politics
DLSS and FSR cant make anything run faster without tricking through fake frames or reducing quality of something somehow. FSR in Cyberpunk made far away objects use less Resolution and Details to run faster.
Try it on Performance mode and go to somewhere you have far range of sight with different objects at diffrent ranges with details. Switch FSR on/off or from high Quality to Performance and you will see far away objects reduced in Quality, details, Resolution while near objects stay roughly same.
Best quality will always be without FSR or DLSS and the AI in modern NVidia cards with fake frames just multiplies Frames to make it look smoother for the Eye. it doesnt really run better, it fakes running better. The AI tries to Predict how th Frame would change and adjusts from Frame to Frame without having to do the Load heavy calculations.
That Technology IS impressive, but, the Marketing speech around it is comletely misleading the Customer what it does.
do you even own cyberpunk?
CDPR redeption ark? absolutely not, they are just salvaging what they promised and now they are gonna do the same fuck up with witcher 4
20 GB of fake frames. Gee, thanks i guess.
8:15 –> makes you wanna replay the game, doesn't it?
