  1. I think it is not that bad as can be seen. Do not forget that KC:D II will be realised next year and it is going to be big game of decade, minimal in central Europe, and last the thing, what polish developers would like to hear, is: "Some tiny czech studio made game, which is much more slavic, polish and with spirit of the Witcher, than new Witcher game itself."

  2. New lead writers are ex-Kotaku journs wdy expected? Literally CDPR studio has Kotaku's branch department, and to make things worse that department was too radical even for Kotaku standards! Can you imagine how much toxicity is there

  3. Man I still remember just 5 years ago, CDPR had godlike status in gaming, everyone was dickriding them so hard, they thought of them as the new hope for gaming. But the saying: "never meet your heroes" keeps being proven right everytime, especially so in recent times. Just because a company seems cool now, it doesn't mean they ain't gonna fuck it all up later. Every company that we hate nowadays, used to really mean something once. Except maybe EA and Activision, I think no one ever liked those.

  4. I think we should still differ between a femme fatale and a feminist female character and not demonize all female protagonists now. There already have been games long time ago with "strong" females which were good, like Blood Rayne, Julie Strain (Heavy Metal F.a.K.K. 2), Lara Croft , Bayonetta… I fear it will go in the end into the wrong direction of demanding to not have female protagonists at all.

  6. There you go, here's the knowledge you don't need:
PLN – PL means Polska (Poland) and last letter N means "NOWY polski złoty (NEW polish zloty)". Previously it was PLZ, but Z was replaced by N after denomination around 30 years ago.

  7. By now I've completely written off CDPR as a lost cause, so I'm just hoping whomever buys them after they go bankrupt will take better care of their IPs.

Then again, both of their IPs are licenses. So this may open the path for other studios to give them a try now that they have seen what sort of potential the Witcher and Cyberpunk possess. Bonus points if it happens after more woke games fail and the industry is forced to discard ESG/DEI in favor of giving players what they actually want.

  8. Ive been saying this for some time. Even if things are looking better, before the industry heals, things will get worse in terms of wokism.
The lunatics will make their last stand and a lot of developers and publishers will go under with them.

  9. So… Discrimination is ok depending on who you discriminate.

What about those non-binary identifying people? Will they be eligible? Or is their DEI absolutely fake?
    Seems very exclusionary to me.

When will these people get we just want good games to play? Never probably.

  10. Another MALE witcher protagonist would be no problem, but his story would need to be interesting. You could add a choice in female protagonist in the same game, but with a different story as a monster or some such. With zero wokeness, that sounds awesome.

  11. “The new witcher wouldn’t feature Geralt” No shit, they said that during witcher 3. Ciri’s journey just started, but let me guess…you’re going to call her woke now despite her lore?
