  1. I paid full price for it on release (my regional full price, equivalent to less than 30 dollars). I was working as a gayman journo at the time and wanted to experience the thing to review it. I didn't get to review it for our media but I did get to suffer through its entirety twice. Bugs aside, it could've been an amazingly rated game if they didn't have a 4 years history of promoting features just to cancel them pre-release. I did end up making a long ass listicle analyzing all the bullshots and the features that weren't shown and didn't make it into the product, plus all the features they announced to be canceled. It had all the things in it to be great, and it ended up as a very linear story with mediocre content and storytelling, in an open world that has nothing to do but repeat the same fights with about 3 different builds.

    I agree with most of what both you and Max0r say, but I still believe most people give way too much credit to what was left of the game, when it is less than mediocre at best.

  2. Ozob , the clown with the nose grenade is actually an easter egg. He was created in a rpg session for a famous podcast here in Brazil. Don't know how cd Project learn about JovemNerd, but they made the character for the game as a easter egg for them. That's probably why Ozob is from Brazil as well.

  3. I thought SoulKiller was the thing that killed Johnny Silverhand, not the thing that is supposed to be killing V?

    If I recall correctly, V is dying because the Relic is literally reconstructing his brain into Johnny's using nanomachines, which is just a fancy way of saying that V is suffering from the rejection of a brain transplant. It is actually kind of scary.

  4. I did play through the entire game three times now and I only partly agree with Max0r.

    The game was pretty fun for the majority of the 100 hours it took me per playthrough (although the final few hours for all the gigs were kinda repetetive).

    I do agree that there are things still missing but CDPR are still working on improving the game, so credit to them.

    I enjoyed the story and while it is definitely true that there is a false sense of urgency I find that many open world RPGs suffer from that at least in parts. But besides that I liked exploring the characters and their associated side quests and how that affected the main quest down the line.

    Then when I got mods involved in the third playthrough it was really refreshing and allowed me to break the game by unlocking EVERYTHING so I could pull off 2 million damage critical headshots and the sorts.
    The sheer amount of mods out there shows how dedicated the community is and how they help fix the mess that it admittedly was at launch.

    I have seen quite a few patches since I first played the game and it got progressively better.
    I am now waiting to hop back into the game when 1.5 releases and I hope CDPR get to eventually bring the game up to the point they envisioned before the launch was rushed.

    All in all, I think people give Cyberpunk more shit than it deserves, simply because of the way it turned out at launch.

  5. Honestly, the thing about siding with the Gangs not happening in the main story I kinda understand. V doesn't have any need or reason to join other gangs. [[[SPOILERS: V joined the Aldecados because he HAD a reason later on]]] , and honestly I don't see V as US, the player. I see V as their own person. Yeah, I know some people say other wise and I think CDPR also says we are V, but… it honestly works better for me like this.
    Now, my point is, V may have no need to join a gang or faction, BUT in a multiplayer mode were we, the player, may have more opportunities to join gangs for some reason. To make a system of loyalty with each gang because we are building our story from the ground up, instead of V who has has more important matter to care about AKA the Chip KILLING their brain…. featuring Keanu Reeves. Of course, if this happens. Honestly CDPR can make lots of cool stuff in multiplayer apart from just joining gangs and stuff. We just gotta wait for their move, and in my part… I have faith. Call me a fool if you want, folks, you are probably half right hahaha.

  6. Okay, the thing with the chip. This is explained in game, but the narrative is so thinly spread, its easy to forget parts of it.

    When Dex shot you, the chip used its nanotech to save your life. It's literally hardwired into your brain. However, its primary function is to transfer the consciousness on the chip. So while it saved your body, its overwriting your mind with that of Johnny.

    The chip CANNOT be removed without killing you now.

    The solution proffered by Alt in the third act is to use Soulkiller to digitize you, as Johnny was, and then upload you back into your own body. The reason why this winds up not working is because the plot said s… I mean, the chip has rewritten your brain FOR Johnny now. Your body can't hold anyone else. (No, don't know why they can't just yank out the chip now and slide in a new one to RE-write it, see my comment about the plot).

    So you're left with a choice. Stay in your body and enjoy what time you have left, while Johnny goes off into the DarkWeb with his cyber bootycall, or you wife swap with Johnny and give him your body since he'll get to live a full life with it (because the plot says so.)

There were some rumors that there were multiple versions of cyberpunk during development, one focused more on driving one more focused on stealth or combat since they weren't really sure in which direction to focus, and what we got is some kind of Frankenstein mashup of those versions and systems ( but hey just a rumor)

  8. 14:55 To be fair, Legion isn't the first game in the series, this is why Cyberpunk is the way it is, unlike GTA or Watchdogs, the devs never had the chance to experiment and perfect this formula.

  9. Yeah, the sheer lack of impact you had on the game world made me feel like an npc, you could walk around murdering everyone until max showed then hide for a bit and be forgotten only to get a call from regina or the cops about something in the area needing your help with.

    Walk around murdering gangs and until you cross the aggro line they would do nothing to literal doctor death, there were no sides in a game about sides.
