Hello Dear Viewers 😀

Today, I am testing the so long await AMD FSR3 Update for Cyberpunk, introducing FSR FRAME GENERATION to the game… still it seems like CD Projekt is one again asleep and on top of not using FSR 3.1, they also made a crappy implementation of FSR 3 upscaling…

As always, leave your experience in the comment section as it may help others.

  1. Just to be clear, the Frame Generation works well and is quite good (like the mods we had already). It is the UPSCALING that SUCKS hard, and since we don't have FSR 3.1 being implemented (somehow), we HAVE to use their shitty Upscaling implementation to use FSR3 Frame Generation as well…. CD Projekt is losing my respect every day that passes…

  2. Not sure what i expected, but im not at all shocked. CDPR clearly dont want to annoy thier Nvidia overlords. Any feature that has an RT option looks worse in dx12 mode than dx11, and Cyber bench RTX has xbox 360 level reflections in order to make the RT reflections look better.

  3. Unfortunately after all the patches and fixes I still don't like this game. I can play it and enjoy its great graphics with Ray Tracing which are really gorgeous, but that's it. This game just isn't for me.

  4. FSR 2.1 actually isn't dumb. Every "upgrade" to FSR since then has always had drawbacks, unlike DLSS upgrades. 2.2 is arguably worse looking than 2.1, the pros of 2.1 just matter more for image quality.

  5. It seems that they did this primarily so that users of the rtx 2000 and 3000 series could not use the frame generator and dlss. An ideal example of monopoly pressure on users, and secondly, to expose the competitor’s technology in the most unsightly light.

  6. WOW CDPR really poop update. I tried it but looked like crap so switched back to using the DLSS to FSR mod and worked so much better. And they also broke Cyber engine tweaks so can't use path tracing plus mod or many other mods that needs cyber engine tweaks

  7. Was testing frame generation and noticed I was getting over 120 fps, apparently after the Windows update, Cyberpunk patch and AMD driver update I gained like 8 – 12 frames in Cyberpunk. Tried without frame generation and sure enough, 60+ fps.

Frame generation seems to blur the image somewhat, though, I'm not gonna use it.

  8. how is this possible? is this to implement such a hard work? i i didnt know, but this is not good. Hunt Showdown is the Same with the New Update, its Only fsr2, but the good thing is, it works for now, its not the yellow from the egg but better as nothing. I hope they will fix this in Cyberpunk

  9. CD Red Projekt it is s*cking a fa* c0*k from nvidia just make the dlss 3 frame generation perfect and no and REAL updates for AMD FSR since Nvidia it is carrying their back. It seems they have to learn with Nixxes, you can easily swap to AMD FSR 3.1 + frame generation without the need to restart the game on Ghost of Tsushima…. What a shame

  10. Hey Fabio, could you make a video for people like me (not very tech savvy) comparing the advantages of upscaling vs frame gen? For example, I'm playing Remnant 2 4K now on a 7900 XT and wonder: should I play say balanced upscaled frame gen OFF OR quality upscaled frame gen ON. My understanding is that frame gen also boosts latency so I guess instead of using it I'm better off being more aggressive with the upscaling. Am I missing smth here? Thx in advance for your great work as always!

  11. People in the comment section as always: blame Microsoft for Win poor performance, blame gaming devs for being lazy in optimization or being sponsored by NVidia, but never EVER dare to hold AMD itself accountable. That's why in the comment section eveyone has AMD, while in reality NVidia dominates the market. AMD fanboys are just too vocal, too noizy, too Karen. lol

  12. Its looks hideous. Have to revert the game to 2.12a, download 59 GB again. They should make these updates optional for AMD RX GPU users. Like a DLC or something instead of forcing the update onto people. Why must the rest of us suffer because of a miniscule 4-5% AMD GPU owners?

  13. FSR 3 depends fully on a low level integration in the game's graphic code. So if you look at UBI avatar game in witch FSR 3 has been fully integrated from the start of the game, the results are awesome, but here in Cyberpunk it would have mean to rewrite completely the graphic engine, so it sucks. DLSS 3 depends only on external libraries. That's why you can update DLSS 3 versions without breaking games. Thank you Fabio. 👍

  14. Yeah, here is the thing: FSR 3.1 is "decoupled" from the upscaling methods and allows for the use of DLSS. That is what we used in Cyberpunk for 11 months since AMD released it as a mod to the public. Now the CDPR Cyberpunk Devs only implemented FSR 3.0, which is not "decoupled" and needs (!) AMDs "fidelity" upscaler, which is far inferior to DLSS. The fidelity upscaler does less more than creating a planely upscaled image with a few AI enhancements. But not with a lot and not as sophisticated as DLSS. You can clearly see that in the background, even under "quality" settings of the fidelity upscaler, there are jitters, flickers and the image is overall blurry and unappealing. I work (largely) as a 3D & VFX artist, and I gotta say: I have a hard time seeing the difference between a native render frame and an upscaled DLSS frame. DLSS is really that good. But the AMD fidelity upscaler? That one is so bad that I would rather recommend not to use FSR 3.0 frame generation, or just playing the game with DLSS uspcaling.

Since the update altered the kernel of the main executable (the entire gameloop had to be altered as it seems, or at least that's what I have read about the specifics) all mods, that are not based entirely on scripts that can be internally processed by the game itself without extentions, are now no longer working ("referenced") and the extensions (dlls and such) need to be updated to make the mods work again. Mods like "yer old Kerensikov" still work though, but they are all based on scripts the game can process without a specialized dll library. So it won't help to reinstall the original AMD FSR 3.1 mod from 11 months ago – it won't work. My hope is that the modders find a way to re-implement FSR 3.1 in Cyberpunk without causing a conflict with the now in-built Frame Generation based on FSR 3.0.

What an odd decision of CDPR, right? To implement an inferior frame generation tech that can only use AMDs fidelity upscaler and is bound to disappoint their playerbase? This is exaclty the type of bad decision-making that caused the disastrous launch of the base game in 2020. They really need to learn from their mistakes and avoid nonsense like this in the future, because if the playerbase needs modders to rectify CDPRs screw-ups, the overall situation is bad… really, really bad.

  15. Why bother using FSR3? Activate Xess 1.3 in game, donwload AMD last preview driver, activate AFMF2 and enjoy driver integrated frame generation + the best upscaler. Or if you donnt have an AMD gpu you can literraly download fps by using Lossless scaling.

  16. I installed the 3.1 mod a few days ago and then this came out. The mod, along with the anti ghosting fix is way better than whatever CDPR did. Hell they couldn't even be bothered to run FSR 2.2 on the game.

  17. meh I get great results with amfm2 and xess quality. I get a stable & solid 144 fps and my 7800xt only has to run at 85% or so, so it only draws about 212-220 watts power. game looks and runs great

  18. It really sucks. You said it out of my mouth. I play Cyberpunk at 1080p ultra native settings with my 7700XT and the game looks great. I get about 90-120fps. Do I need more fps? nah. Would i like to see more fps? why not? but at what cost. The image was horrible, but any upscaling is bad in 1080p. Or is it? I played Ghost of Tsushima with FSR3 and it was GORGOUS. Better than native actually with the minimal sharpening. Maybe Cyberpunk is meant to be played at native
