What was it they had done that makes you decide they deserve death? Is this what people call double morale, hypocricy, a "simple mistake" or the "shoot first ask questions second" tactics which are also a kind of pre judgement?
I ask that because if you chose to talk a little bit more to them they not only would become extra ressources in terms of extra guns they´re also could have become kind of buddies to V if V and the president wasn´t tracked down to the appartment. If V and the president were tracked down they become casualties in the fight against Hansons men which is the same ending to them that you chose for them. Only then they would have died "for a good cause" so they died for nothing or more precise because you did judge them to die.
